A child who lost his leg in an Israeli drone attack arrives in Texas for treatment

A video shared by Steve Sosebee, one of the founders of Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF), shows Adam, a child from Gaza who has lost his leg in an Israeli drone attack, arriving at the airport in Dallas, Texas for treatment and being welcomed and cheered for by a group of people carrying Palestinian flags.
Every day since October 7 more than 10 children in Gaza lose one or both legs as reported by UNRWA chief Philippe Lazzarini. UNICEF estimates more than 1,000 have lost one or both their legs since the beginning of Israel’s war on Gaza, with many of the amputations being done without anaesthetics as a result of the collapse of Gaza’s healthcare system and shortages in medical supplies caused by Israel's continued blockade of aid into Gaza.

I agree. I couldn't put a finger on why this was so especially warming to my heart. To see even one person there brought to safety gives me a desperate hope. Now, if we can just end the violence so the others don't have to leave their country, where most Palestinians want to stay.

I do worry if all the noise was overwhelming for him after all these months of bombing. That seems to have caused a lot of the trauma, according to victims. The constant terror of bombs night and day. Hopefully he can heal. I'm sure when he can process it all he will at least be glad to know everyone doesn't feel about the Palestinians as their occupying force.

As an American who thought my work and life stresses were so difficult, the children of Palestine have taught me a valuable life lesson. They epitomize the true meaning of resilience and the value of community and family in the face of tragedy. I’m in awe of these beautiful brave children. Israel is a cancer and it must be stopped from spreading. Israel must be held accountable and it must pay for all its crimes against humanity.
