The narration and sound effects add so much to the vision. One thing that got me though, was Marley. The voice reminded me of those dragons from Skyrim. All I can picture now is a ghostly dragon called Marley stuck in the Soul Cairn.

Thank you for this upload! I've been trying to finish this all season but I i keep falling asleep😅... Not because it's boring, it's great but I guess I will have to listen during the day so I can get through it! I hope everyone had a great holiday season and a happy new year to come. I would love to see this story adapted in full and unabridged in film version just once. Tell the whole wonderful story on film. If we can have three hour superhero films, why can't we adapt the whole of this beautiful story? Doesn't need a lot of flash and bang of special effects. I guess Hollywood is never going to do that though.

Can you please tell me which movie version is your favorite? Right now, mine is "The Muppets Christmas Carol". After listening to this, it is easy to feel disappointed by the movie versions because I feel they don't follow the book closely enough.

I read A Christmas Carol a lot more now now that we'll be seeing Fionnula Flanagan (Mrs Dilber in 2009 film) as President Snow's Grandma in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes

Yes, it is wonderful to have. I used to share the link where I downloaded it with people, but the website where it was able to be downloaded was updated and it broke the link. I couldn't find it anywhere to share, and because I already had it downloaded, I decided to upload it here. It is such a beautiful version! I am glad others can enjoy it as much as I do.

This to me ....is more christmas than a tree or Carol's or gifts usually round Halloween I start listening cuz to me this is also a great scary halloween story its yearly tale bout 2nd chances that's a story all of us can identify

I think that listening to it around Halloween is a great idea! One part that makes me laugh every time is when Jacob Marley tells Scrooge that he will be haunted. Scrooge says, "I'd rather not." :)

I never understood why in the book, Marley says that the ghosts will come on consecutive nights instead of all on one night. Doesn't the story all take place on Christmas Eve?

I have never understood that either. Maybe it was an oversight? Perhaps it was symbolic?

Yes, the ghost of Christmas past does say the visits will happen over the course of several nights, and yet you are right, the visits all happen in one night. Scrooge even remarks on that fact at the end. There is no explanation in the books for that though and I can't find a deffinitive answer to that question online either.

It does but toward the end Scrooge says “they did it all in one night, of course they did they can do anything they want.” I think it’s telling how serious he needed this and to get it all done in one night, and so he can get started changing his attitude about Christmas. Jusr my thoughts.

Listened to all of the audio books on this and read the book many times. Luv this but story but what's confusing is that the spirits all come in one night, not 3 consecutive nights as Marley said they would.

Yes, I don't understand why it was written that way, but Ebenezer addresses that later in the book when he says "It's Christmas Day! ... I haven't missed it. The Spirits have done it all in one night. They can do anything they like. Of course they can..." Marley had told Scrooge what to expect. Perhaps Marely didn't know exactly how the Spirits would visit Scrooge, and only that they would?
