That's the amazing thing about this man. He should know how mzch he is lived, admired and adored and yet he is so unaffected, humble and grounded. Livia must really do a good job planting him firmly on earth.

He's one of my all- time favorite actors, and he made a truly marvelous Fred in this movie (Which, btw, I consider quite possibly my #1 favorite cinematic rendition of 'A Christmas Carol,' due to the combination of how faithful it is to the book and how generally entertaining and moving it is). He particularly nails Fred's two main monologues in the story: The one in the beginning on the value he sees in Christmas, and the one in the Christmas Present scene in which he describes why he feels sorry for Scrooge. Wonderful delivery all the way through.
