I really appreciated how well developed Nadsat was, and how easy it was to understand given the context cues. It certainly spoke to Burgess' knowledge as both an author and a linguist. It was a brilliant way to use teenage slang that would never age for an audience in the future (an interesting bit of foresight from an author who was told he didn't have long to live!) The novel had an appendix to help explain it but I think, especially in the film, it was very well done and didn't need too much explanation (although perhaps a second watching might help, as it usually does with Kubrick's films). Unless you had a bolshy tolchock to the gulliver, I think you can probably pony what they were trying to say.

Al ex Actually the Ludovico technique did work well -- but the politician dude who initially supported it was getting political backlash because of Alex' suicide attempt. So, he arranges for the doctors to reverse it. It's implied that the reason Alex was having a dream that doctors were playing around with the inside of his brain is because they actually * did * do some sort of brain surgery to reverse the effects of his treatment.

The actress is Pauline Taylor. And I've a thing for recognizable voices. If you've viewed Patrick McGoohan's TV series The Prisoner as often as I have, that is unmistakably the voice of the Village PA system. I loved this movie even when i was kid. Watched it 1st time when i was ten. Malcolm Mcdowell is great in this, schoolboyish handsome sociopath indeed. This one, Dr. Strangelove and Shining, those Kubricks best films. A comedy, drama and horror film, all made by the same director. Every time he made a movie it was completely different than the last one. The man allways had a vision.

okayy I see most people find this scene funny and so did I but bro, it also shows in how tragic position Alex is. The treatment was meant to artificially stop his "bad" impulses (succeed) but failed in changing his nature. So he never stopped thinking about moral decay (the last scene in the movie) but only the brainwashing stops him. "He ceases to be a creature capable of moral choices". Now to this scene - (ofc we assume it'd be him in this situations) he couldn't say he wanted to make out with (r@pe?) a woman in the picture even if he probably meant it, as well as he wouldn't be able to speak aloud about murdering someone. Instead, he unleashes his frustration by insulting a customer or crushing eggs because it is not a crime. But it's not well seen in the society either. So although the woman told him there are no right answers, they wanted to see how much is he "fittable" and "normal". The world reflected in the pictures is stiff and formal, where it's expected to wear those masks (great shown in American Psycho). Obviously Alex never fit in that box and deep inside, he never will, despite him smiling to the cameras :'))

A clockwork Orange It’s a film Far ahead of its time and it gave me a passion for cinema, so that’s why It’s my favorite film, because of its construcion, plot, photography, score, language and especially the shock it causes, sepalino to everyone, Cinema does not only serve as a means of entertainment but as means of expressiom, point of view and criticism.

I kept wondering why her hair is dyed blue/violet/purple. Perhaps the color of her hair symbolizes psychiatry/psychology. The most famous test in psychiatry/psychology is the Rorschach test. This is originated from ink. Ink mainly is blue in color. So her blue hair symbolizes her profession. But his mother also had this kind of haircolour. So I assume this is female haircolour in the future.

My answers 1. Well yes, but why did you bring a peacock inside my house. 2. I guess I’ll have to get him whatever the opposite of a get well soon card is. 3. Well I wanted your sister, but beggars can’t be choosers. 4. Nonsense, it works perfectly fine. It lets you know every time that I give a shit. 5. Okay, but before I do, you still haven’t really made it clear whether or not you hired me as a chef or a pet sitter.

1. The plumage doesn't enter into it, it's stone dead. 2. Sweet, I'll pull the plug. Duh I mean oh that's terrible, I shall send him a present. 3. Don't mind me, I was just trying to get the raccoon off your roof. 4. I didn't sell you that watch. Get out you con artist bastard. 5. I'll take them over to that nice lady GLaDOS. She was talking about something involving turning baby birds into killing machines.

Maybe I’m overanalyzing here but I felt the scene was a critique of the parenting in the society. This was the first time we really laughed with the character, but this was probably also the only time he have been playing with, like and adult child relation, as we know it.

When Alex recounts his dream and the psychiatrist downplays it, I can't help but be reminded of what Bill says ar the end of Eyes Wide Shut: "and no dream is ever just a dream."

Summary of " A Clockwork Orange " Everybody has the movie ( and book ) wrong. I haven't read the book, but the themes are alike. This movie shows what happens when someone who lives a life consisting of his own free will, is stripped of all free will, and shows the importance of free will and questions if society would be better with or without free will, or is it just as deadly to deprive free will as it is to grant it? Hence the name " A Clockwork Orange " which shows the contrast of Alex; A young man who's living life to the fullest as fruitful as an Orange, and then Alex whence deprived of all free will, who becomes as mechanical as a Clockwork.
