Just when I recover my stance, she lands a killer wide shot on my forehand. I somehow manage to touch the ball. Time slows down, and for a split second, it seems as if the ball might just cross over, granting me the table tennis point I so desperately fought for. Alas! The ball cruelly lands back on my side of the table; it was a close call.
