Since the games were permanently moved to being played at Tuscaloosa and Auburn in 2000 and not Birmingham (where the game earned its Iron bowl name) the teams have met 23 times. Auburn has won 11 of 23 games, and 6 of 12 at home. Alabama has won 12 of 23 games and is 7 of 11 at home. Of those 23 games, 12 of them have been decided by 10 or fewer points.

@@RiseandBrineyeah, number 10 ran up clapping and it made Seth snap the ball. It was still a horrible snap either way though so it wouldn’t have necessarily mattered even if it wasn’t early. It all set up this incredible moment where auburns hopes and dreams were crushed so I’m not complaining in hindsight

@@RiseandBrine there is some video out there from the back of the end zone that shows when Milroe looked to the left pre-snap, the Auburn safety (#10) moved up and clapped his hands, and then McLaughlin snapped the ball. True story. That's a penalty by the basic rules of the rule book. But, then again, so is this: Under no circumstances can an offensive team have more than one man in motion at one time. If they do, automatic illegal procedure/motion whether or not it draws the Defense offsides. Rulebook Knowledge 101. Yet, Auburn had THREE guys in motion AT THE SAME TIME and Alabama was called for defensive offsides when drawn off by an overtly illegal move by Auburn allowing Auburn to continue a drive instead of punt or go for a fourth and nine in a key moment in the game. F-grade on understanding the rulebook by the refs. Watch the game film and you will see Saban telling them the rule, and he was spot-on right when the guys who are PAID to know it better than anyone WERE DEAD WRONG!!!!! And, then there's the complete f-up of the refs on the clear Burton third down conversion reception on the sideline that forced Bama to punt when they were driving. AGAIN, ANYONE EVEN REMOTELY OBJECTIVE COULD SEE THE GRASS BETWEEN HIS TOE AND THE SIDELINE (INCLUDING THE BROADCAST BOOTH REFEREE WHO WAS CLEARLY BAFFLED WHEN THE RECEPTION WAS DISALLOWED)! WTF!!!!! And, of course, the assault and battery by the Auburn player (who tried to start 3-4 fights in the fourth quarter - #84 0r 85 I think) who assaulted and battered Bama's punter in front of three refs standing within ten yards looking right at it, who didn't call a personal foul (on the play after they screwed the pooch on the Burton catch). In fact, the head ref, pulled him off the punter and shoved him down the field instead of calling a personal four/rape penalty on the play. In other words, in the last 6 minutes of the game, the refs, in true crunch time, missed four game-changing calls against Alabama. AND, just for good measure, watch this video and you will see a non-call on the Auburn CB who clearly grabs Bond's jersey (as he should have, knowing he was beat) before the catch. That makes FIVE terrible calls or non-calls in the last six minutes by an either inept (which I think is true) or corrupt (in our legalized gambling era) officiating crew. By the way, this is the same crew that handed Tennessee a win last year in Knoxville not calling an overt targeting penalty by Tennessee against Bryce Young and taking a pick-six away from Bama on a non-pass interference. Is there any standard of review on these guys to determine if they, or someone they know well, has some money on these games? In this era, of legalized gambling, I really want to know what standards of review are in place to judge the refs, and what implications they face for either corruption or ineptitude. I want to watch games that are above-board as much as possible. I realize there are judgment calls, and that you might be able to holding (as it used to be defined) on every play, but there are some things going on these days that are manifestly obvious to anyone watching with an objective eye that are just F-ING WRONG! When will we get to a place where there are consequences for referees being terrible or corrupt?

@@RIOTLucK It does matter because the refs SHOULD have called a penalty that would have put us closer to the end zone instead of 26 yards away. Don't get me wrong: the end result was probably better this way. But, in most games, when a ref misses that call, it works to the wrongdoer's benefit. It matters!!! These referee buffoons should have to pay for their errors. I was friends with an SEC ref crew leader in the late 80's, and I am sure he is rolling over in his grave at how low the standards have sunk while the pay has increased!

A team that rushes 2 men after having pushed back the other team with pressure should lose. If you give a good team that much time to pass you have let them back in the game. A victory turned defeat by poor coaching. Freeze is known for good offenses and poor defenses.

I didn’t notice it so much during the game, but during this hype clip the gigantic holding was the first thing I noticed. And although I didn’t see the other questionable part of the play in this clip, I did see during the game how the receiver shoved the corner just as the ball was arriving. And in my opinion! That is offensive pass interference. So two big penalties in one play and not one ref noticed either. Then again! What do I know because they change the rules so often these days that you can’t tell what’s legal anymore. Several plays prior to this one during what they called the muffed punt, it was obvious that the ground caused him to drop the ball. In my experience! The player is down at that point and Auburn should’ve had the ball right there where he fell, but instead it was 1st and 10 Alabama ball? My brother in law “Bama fan” explained to me that the rules have changed. Stupid rule in my opinion!

I think this took more skill to accomplish it under greater pressure than the kick 6. The kick 6 was basically a kick off return for a TD. I’ve seen those almost every week if you watch enough football. If they don’t return it, the game goes into overtime. So no real pressure. I’ve never seen a 4th and goal at the 31 with the game on the line… on the last play where you were down in points so you had to make it. And they catch the Hail Mary among 8 defenders in the back of the end zone, with the defender grabbing the WR arm. The pressure, the skill, the accuracy, the poise between both QB and WR. This blows the Kick 6 out of the water.

@@setsjunktaking nothing away from what an amazing throw Jalen made but we do see that play. It's rare but it does happen. I've never in my life before or since seen a game end on a 100 plus yard TD return on missed field-goal attempt. That just doesn't happen lol. Milroe's throw might take more skill but it isn't as improbable as the kick-six.
