In this episode we experience the famous Narrows at Zion National Park for the very first time and share our complete experience with you. See why we think this is our favorite national park hike to date. Certainly one of the best hikes in the state of Utah.
Our goal was to do the full length of the Narrows bottom up hike. We take you along for the journey and offer helpful tips through our own discoveries along the way.
Get a very accurate feel for how the hike works and what to expect. Will you get wet? What type of clothing and footwear should you wear? How long does it take? How many supplies do you need? Is it cold? How do you use the bathroom? Is it dangerous?
All of these questions and more are answered in this video. This is the video we wish we had seen before trekking out in the Narrows for the first time.

NOTES & FAQ: The Narrows closes when the flow rate is over 150 cubic feet per second (CFS), or during spring snowmelt. The trail also closes when a Flash Flood Warning is issued by the NWS, and remains closed for two hours after the warning is lifted. Check the weather before you head into a narrow canyon. Flash floods are always possible. Permits are required to hike Top Down. Q: What camera was used to film this video? A: At the time it was filmed on a Canon G7X (amzn.to/3eJw05L) Q: When was this video filmed? A: This video was filmed early September of 2019. Q: How deep do areas get? A: This is a hard one to answer as there are many factors including height, rainfall, path of your hike. There are some deep areas that went around waist level. Q: Are dogs allowed on the trail? A: No, dogs are not allowed in the Narrows. Q: How long is the full hike? A: The Narrows is 9 miles total (out and back) from the start to the turn around point of Big Springs. Q: How long does it take to hike? A: For us it took 8 hours though that included filming which always increases hiking time.

There was a time in my life that I would have jogged this hike but in my late 50’s I had to quit running completely. Now I know I’ll likely never be able to hike it so THANK YOU for showing me the canyon. Angels Landing is beautiful but treacherous.

Happy to bring it to you! Angel's Landing is beautiful. Seen many videos of it and would love to try it again. We found it's mostly the crowds and navigating around them that is an issue.

Amazing video, Im going to be there in about couple days. I was planning on doing the whole hike but after seeing you getting wet neck deep, changed my plan for now. Will still do it but up to a point where it is not deep. Enjoyed the videos, thanks for all the info.
