What's funny is neither could get around basic science. 1LofT states that energy can't be created or destroyed, it can't happen naturally. One aspect of the 2LofT shows that the universe is winding down, usable energy is becoming less usable. Creation had to be done supernaturally at some point.

Whenever I look at a typical disabled person, I get that feeling of "feeling bad" and "pity" for them. However, with Hawking, I get feel nothing but absolute respect for the man. His genius is admirable and I can only hope to understand concepts of the universe in such a way that he does as well at some point in my life.
@doomer25392 жыл бұрын
I feel the same. I'm capable of walking, talking seeing etc but hawking even if physically disabled he was definitely more advantaged than most of us because he had "the brains"

You can't say that, Hitchens was an amazing human being, Lawrence Krauss and Neil DeGrasse Tyson are also both geniuses.
@DaniboyBR29 жыл бұрын
***** I disagree with you, Hitchens was one of the greatest debaters to ever live and was unquestionably an intellectual to be reckoned with, on the humanities field, incomparable, doesn't mean he wasn't wrong on some issues, but on the ones he was right, he was right indeed, he predicted ISIS rising 10 years before it was even created. Krauss doesn't need to give time to his adversaries. Neil, on that we agree on, he's amazing on divulging science to the layman, just as his mentor Carl Sagan was.
@DaniboyBR29 жыл бұрын
***** To me Hitchens was the Socrates of our time, yes, only more cultured/informed because we live in a time where we have more access to information. You can refute his arguments? Which one? Cite one then refute it please.
@DaniboyBR29 жыл бұрын
***** Loving a mythological dictator and worshipping it is a moral action to you? Giving money to institutions that turn bright children into zealots is a moral action? Really? What are you even doing here, go read your bronze age myths. You do know Neil, Krauss, Dawkins and Hawking are atheists too right? So they are all horrible at what they do because they don't believe in your sky-daddy. I don't want you to elaborate on anything, ever, I understand where you're coming from exactly, you got brainwashed by the individuals who attain the high-ground of morality, who used to burn people at the stake for being "witches, faggots, unbelievers", who just don't still do that because they lost political power, thats your crowd and I don't to have anything with you or with it, goodbye sir.

Before i became an athiest i never believed that because you dont believe in god you go to hell i always believed that as long as you are good and you never do anything like adolf hitler or do something just absolutly inhumane then your good to go. When you devote your life to god and you do your best to never dissapoint him and you dont wanna go to hell its because you live in fear of eternal damnation in other words YOU FEAR GOD. Just dont worry about it everyone be a good person help and respect each other if you believe god's got your back then thats ok. We all just need to get along and hope that religion in america never turns out like religion in the middle east.

Nothing substantive can be extracted from this dialogue, but rather an appreciation of a cordial conversation between 2 human beings in which each rests more on their uncertainties, doubts and questions than convictions. Nobody goes anywhere if there is not the humility to recognize that the Universe and its purpose will never be within reach of the insignificant and mortal human being and who has not been given any power other than to observe his own navel and his nakedness. Knowing some basic physical laws with mathematical expression is completely irrelevant.

You have had several months to respond ==>>what did he say? You may have superhearing, but are you able to read?
@spirographic907610 жыл бұрын
I can type out what Dawkins said for you here. Not choosing to get into any debate here though. "Well, um, I noticed that you brought up the question of God and I didn't. When you ended 'A Brief History of Time' with 'for then we shall know the mind of God', I suspect that you were using God in a sort of Einsteinian sense; a euphemism for the mystery at the root of the universe, that which we don't understand. But most people use the word 'God' for a person. God as an answer to scientific questions. Then I think it is scientifically facetious because it distracts people away from the hard work of answering scientific questions. It's just too easy to say 'God did it, therefore we don't need to answer the question.'" So, uh, yeah. That was his response to it. Honestly, I'm surprised you didn't catch it; he was rambling a bit and there weren't really any special effects going on at the time.
@cdowis10 жыл бұрын
Spirographic "OK, and can you now type out Hawkin's question??" Can't you read??? It was on his computer screen. Basically he asked how Dawkins could explain the conditions which made life possible that were so vastly improbable. Either (A) there was a god/creator, OR (B) there are a vast number of multiple universes. Select A or B, or give us another answer. Of course I am giving my own interpretation of his question, and the video gives the exact wording on Hawkin's computer screen so you can read it for yourself. Dawkins refused to answer the question, The explosions and sparkles hid his refusal to address this question. A very clever device that fooled his supporters, and even you refused to look at Hawking's question and compare it to the "answer".
@owall839 жыл бұрын
cdowis No, Hawkins doesn't ask Dawkins any such thing in this video. Hawkin's is explaining that the fine balance in which our universe works in is so impressive that one might credit it to creation. He then goes on to argue that the multiverse theory, in which there are potentially a infinite number of universe, would eventually lead to the creation of a universe that can sustain intelligent life (us) and that this intelligent life could then come to the conclusion that "this can't be chance, it must be design." as one of this theories of existence.

He was so bad, even basic science crushed him. 1LofT states that energy can't be created or destroyed, it can't happen naturally. One aspect of the 2LofT shows that the universe is winding down, usable energy is becoming less usable. Creation had to be done supernaturally at some point.

Two great minds in science meet for an interview and we only get 5 and a third minutes of video? Damn. I guess I can't complain too much though because without the genius of youtube I possibly wouldn't have gotten to see it at all.
