On November 16, information spread in the media that an unknown person tried to set fire to the Yerevan synagogue. This incident was the third case of vandalism in a short period of time in relation to the synagogue. CivilNet met with Armenian Rabbi Gershon Meir Burshtein to find out how the Jewish community evaluates the events taking place, how Armenians reacted to the incidents, and how the attitude towards Jews changed after renewed violence in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict

It’s a filthy game from Azerbaijani side. They want to create an artificial conflict between Armenians and Jews in general both Armenians and Jews have coexisted together in different parts of the world peacefully.

Every village has its idiot ! Growing up in Armenia, my French teacher was Jewish and I will never forget her brightness and her light ! She was so different from others with her demeanor and the way she related to the children she was teaching . I always have a smile on my face every time I think about her . I hope Jewish community prospers in Armenia and gives us more teachers like her .

Love our Jewish people, also love to Jewish people around the world!! We Armenians always had much compassion and understanding and sympathy to Jewish people, beside any politics. I hope we can have also good political ties one day or have more cultural ties in future. ❤

Great interview thank you civil-net. It's a shame that Israels and Armenian politicians don't see eye to eye. We have such a similar culture. I've traveled to Telaviv and Jerusalem many times and enjoyed being there. I do hope in the near future we'll have a better relationship with Israel and have more Jews migrating to Armenia.

Sir, first of all nobody has a right to insult any minority or none armenian or turist in anywhere specially in Armenia. It was a very minor incidents which it has to addressed by armenian authorities. But let I explain to you in Israel ( which claims that are democratic country, and every jew wants their right be recognized) it is more than 3 months some thugs every day are attacking in Armenian quarter in Jerusalem with bulldozer, wood, and gas grenades to armenian patriarchs, prists and people that are there for praying, nobody does anything in spide of there is a 100 complains to Israely police, authorities and government but there is no action. Even EU parlimenteries raised this issue. Being fair and respectful is human manner and it would be appropriate that everywhere ask for that. For example not just because I am Christian, I have a right to bother and cause problem to others but when I am other countery I complain that they don't respect is. Please us your power as a Jwish who born and raise in ancient and cultural Armenia and raise that issue to Israel government. Thank you Sir.

Since this is a new interview it might take a couple days for Civilnet to upload a Russian and Armenian translation, but it should be available soon.

@@Hayklassright……that’s the reason why Armenia and israel aren’t allies 🙄. Not the arming/supplying of weapons and technologies, (some banned internationally as war crimes, ie. white phosphorus) by israel to the dictatorship of alievesta that is hell bent on killing as many as possible and ethnically cleansing indigenous Armenians from their ancestral homeland, which was accomplished recently (albeit temporarily) thanks to this very support…. That can’t be it…. Must be “because most Hayastantzis love money more than their country” 🧐🤔🤦🏻‍♂️ eshhhyakkk.
