I'm a lapsed Christian, but a huge Killers fan. I always wondered why there was a spiritual aspect to Brandon's lyrics. So even though I've left the church, there is something comforting and uniquely human about confronting different aspects of our existence.

I don't think I could love him more. I think the thing that I love most about him is that he doesn't play into the alcohol and drugs element that is so common in rock and roll. He's a family man and he is so talented and doesn't need drugs etc to make amazing music which makes him an incredible role model. I love him ❤️

Relatable on a dozen levels!!! As an alumni of USU and being raised in Nephi (before Brandon’s time), and being a very mortal member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints clinging to the redeeming power of Jesus, this one resonates! My cousin told me Brandon’s gifts were clearly evident in middle school (and she LOVED his mother!) This was honest and raw and hopeful and enlightening and relatable! Bless you Brandon for letting your light shine into an often dark world!!! Can’t wait to hear more!!

The Killers are amazing live! Brandon is so talented, they sound exactly like their records. Last time I saw them they were playing around with Mariachi music, that was interesting. Brandon’s a leader, not afraid of saying “no” or “I need a break” which is why the alcohol and drugs never got a good hold on him. I think it takes that mentality to not get sucked in. It seems a lot of talent is ruined by exhaustion and pressure. One upper to get thru a show, one downer or drink to wind down grows into a big crutch and the need to be surrounded by drugs and alcohol before and after every performance and before they realize they’re in trouble they are physically addicted and can’t stop . It’s sad really.

My mother introduced me to the Beatles when I was 9 years old in England. My sons introduced me to the Killers in America when I was 55 years old. I’m 68 now and still love both their music. I’d love to go to a Killers concert! I believe Brandon’s music is so popular in England because the people there are short on hope and find meaning and hope in the messages. He has such a clean countenance and way of moving on stage that reflects wholesome values. I noticed in the video of his Glasgow concert that there are many different ages represented in the audience. I think that’s a sign that the Killers music will endure as the Beatles music has. 💜

I just saw The Killers at Firefly this last September. Such a great show. I kind of felt like I was the only Latter Day Saint standing in the middle of 50,000 people, but then again I knew I wasn’t the only Latter Day Saint there. Thank you Brandon for great music and example.

I remember the first time I saw The Killers, I must have been nine or ten years old when I saw the music video for All These Things I've Done and just being mesmerized by these urban cowboys. Then about four years later I saw them play "Human" and "Spaceman" on Saturday Night Live. A lot of people make fun of their lyrics, say they're absurd or cheesy. I never bought that, something always told me there was something extremely rooted and sincere in the songs the Killers put out. I just connected with their music immediately. They're one of the very few rock acts I still listen to, I can never listen to a song by The Killers and pretend that it's not hitting me in special place. It's not that they're deep; they're so obviously sincere that our cynical culture can't believe them, so they figure it must be a trick. But it's not, The Killers just write beautiful songs, and that's all there is to it.

His songs have always connected with me and it is so great to hear him talk about them in the same way that I have imagined them to be. I am about the same age as he is and feel like his music has grown up on the same timeline that I have. Thank you to Brandon for doing this interview. It was a great inspiration.

I love this interview. I have so much appreciation for both Brandon Flowers and Patrick Mason. Patrick’s book Planted has been helpful on my journey as a member of the LDS faith. The killers are probably my favorite band and the spiritual undertones really help me feel optimistic and hopeful. Especially in Imploding the Mirage. So much respect for you Brandon. You have a beautiful family and I love how much you support your wife in and outside of your music. It’s tough figuring out where you belong in the world as a member, even for us everyday people.

It's nice Brandon being interviewed by someone like minded so he doesn't need to be defensive about his religion as he often does. I don't know much about LDS there is some stigma about it though apparently being homophobic I heard but Brandon admires Lou Reed and David Bowie and sexually ambiguous artists so I don't know how much truth there is to that either and some think they are still polygomists too but have not been for a hundred years or something. He's a great performer anyway and truly if Elvis wanted to sing gospel type music people didn't hassle him about it and Brandon doesn't even have drug problems and womanizing issues like Elvis either he's allowed to have a personal life and shouldn't need permission to believe in God etc.

Christ is all around , it's not only for the few .

@Foyer ... when I left Logan in 1990, I’d never heard of the Department of Mormon Studies, even though it makes perfect sense! New, or was I just in a hurry ?-)

Well I grew up in a very small town 1200 about but they had 7 churches in that small community and I went to Sunday school regularly and had a positive opinion about the church and my my mother liked the pastor but that's not to say every church or pastor is as nice as that. If Brandon has had positive experiences from his religious community than that's his truth and he should not need to defend it just as some report horrible experiences and should be respected if they choose to leave a church or community as a result. Brandon has mentioned Elvis and Johnny Cash too they sang gospel songs and don't bother arguing with them if you don't like it don't listen Brandon didn't even get drug habits or divorced like them either so I guess his lifestyle suits him fine.

There is nothing more irritating than having an interviewer proselytize about their own agenda and ask their subject with leading questions. 2. If you're playing music samples - there is technology to prerecord samples instead of spending an entire minute looking for a music phrase or track Just my ten cents.
