It all boils down to the fact that neither of them communicated properly. If anything, he should have admitted that liking that tweet in the first place was a mistake and instead of "saving it to talk to his brother about", maybe should have gone right to her to ask about it. They both could have communicated better to have avoided it. He could've spoken directly to her about his issue and she could have approached him less aggressively. But these are could haves.
