Ilyasah Shabazz, Malcolm X’s daughter and Valerie Mosley
Ilyasah Al-Shabazz, is a community organizer, activist, motivational speaker and, the third daughter of Malcolm X and Dr. Betty Shabazz.
Ilyasah promotes higher education for at-risk youth, interfaith dialogue to build bridges between cultures for young leaders of the world, and she participates on international humanitarian delegations.
Ilyasah has produced training programs to encourage higher education sanctioned by the City University of New York’s Office of Academic Affairs. She served twelve years on the Executive Youth Board for the City of Mount Vernon’s Mayor Ernest Davis, including appointments as Director of Public Relations, Director of Public Affairs & Special Events, and later promoted to Director of Cultural Affairs.
Ilysah holds a Master of Science in Education & Human Resource Development from Fordham University; a Bachelors of Science in Biology from SUNY/New Paltz; and she is currently an adjunct professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

I see so much of her parents in her character. Dr. Shabazz was a very intelligent and socially conscious woman.llyasah personalized her father and helps us to see the many facets of Bro. Malcolm.We forget just how young he was when he died at 39 years old. He and Martin King were so ahead of their time. Both assassinated at 39. Jesus taught love your neighbor as you love yourself.

I absolutely love her voice, her tone is so regal. Very beautiful young lady. I love to listen to very intelligent people, it gives me such warmth and comfort. Malcolm X - El Hajj Malik El Shabazz and Betty Shabazz are smiling down on their beautiful family.

God bequeathed into the daughters of Malcolm X Shabazz and Betty Shabazz their spirit to be the voice for love, human rights and human unity. Ilyaasah, Attallah and the rest are just wonderful gifts.
