If I smash three random keys on my keyboard then what is the probability of typing "GPT"? Answer: The probability of randomly typing "GPT" by smashing three keys on a keyboard depends on the number of keys on your keyboard and the specific arrangement of those keys. Assuming you have a standard QWERTY keyboard layout with 26 letters, 10 digits, and some additional characters, let's say a total of 40 possible keys. The probability of randomly typing "GPT" in a specific order would be 1 out of 40 cubed (40^3), since each keypress is an independent event. So the probability would be 1/(40^3), which is approximately 0.000625 or 0.0625%.

I'm both excited and freaked out by what's happening. My brain has a hard time comprehending how fast this is all happening, but I guess that's what some people predicted. I thought Ray Kurzweil was a nutjob ten years ago, and I still think his mind-uploading religion is crazy, but he was accidentally right about exponential change. (I say accidentally because he based his predictions on hardware improvements, not software improvements.)

I'm just afraid that increased efficiency under capitalism won't lead to abundance, but more hoarding and disparity. Companies would be able to choose between producing more/lowering prices and just reducing costs. Buying power will diminish and shift upwards, towards high-end goods. Basically the opposite of the promise, a dystopia. Not sure what will they choose but I feel like the current system rewards greed, until everything grinds down. Also reducing costs is the easier path.

Sam an Open AI is awesome (and all the people helped directly and indirectly) the pie getting bigger and way richer = positive metrics in society increasing seemingly predictibly, thats what i also been saing and i relly relly relly like the thinkin. Maybe we can think about extending healthy happy life in the future if the economy increases massively otherwise small isolated tryes will likely be doomed or a drop on a hot stone. I think another big industrial revolution would be fixing the medication finetuning being done by try and not by a AI sytsem with infinite context memory/Memory that can just intake your medication protocols by whatsapp for example and ask you questions and check your dosages and then deliver insights and patterns/trends to the doctor and you. Also making use of the gadgets that collect data nowadays and getting a „opt put of you want“ medical data bank and data ealy (since when u are 80 and the hole wolrd just starts with collectibg data the time it takes until the AI‘s/machinelerning symthonic (bunch of stuff together/combination of all techniques that controbute some unique strength) have to figure it out might be not doable anymore. Also all the mental health people even if you dont see the cost the indirect costs of peole being fucked are immense, even just being stressed /anxiety/ not motivated probably is the grave of a billion ideas/innovation or just dilligent work the difference if you have fun or life is pain/struggle. Get the adhd finetuning going please, it would be simple just improve memory and let people upload txt files or let the AI prtially remember/store and sort things you ever said it no matter what, this also improves everything else, the amount of tailored AI buddy responses would be way better if they dot repeat the same thing 10000 times over different chats because they dont remeber previous chats on the same account at least imperfectly. Get away feom perfection of memory - perfection is the enemy of the good, and use the collective computing power of the worlds personal computers (idle ressources of pcs around the wold and do smth with it like - it cant be correct to leave those ressources iddle and wait until Nvida replicated all the wolrd graphics cards again, use - those resources! (Even if ineffitient all that idle computing used by a dynamically adjusting program you can opt out or change how much % you let it have seems like a no brainer, gotta figure out things that can be done there and the results feed back to GPT cloud or combined with cloud output locally.

Now, when you walks into a random house and you see only 1 lady there and she was just finished giving birth successfully. What are the total number of legs were there? *ChatGPT answer:* in the given scenario, when the person walks into a random house and sees only one lady who has just finished giving birth successfully, we can determine the total number of legs based on the information provided. Assuming the lady has the typical number of legs for a human, which is *two,* and there are no other individuals or animals mentioned in the house, the total number of legs would be two. @@noivongxoang235 That's a nice question to test their current limitations. As the person below you pointed out, GPT4 can tell you it's 4 legs present, but the real answer should be 6, because I walked into the house too so it forgets to count my legs. So far none of the models can answer 6 correctly, and using this question we can rank models by how smart they are: GPT4 - almost gets it right but neglects my legs Claude+ - gives a similar answer to GPT4 GPT3.5 - gives a more nonsense answer like in your comment Bard - gives absolute garbage It's possible GPT4 can answer 6 correctly if prompted right, it can find its own mistakes and self reflect, but so far it can't answer this question from the getgo. it is strange, that we always live with something that are supposed to be better then it arrives.... So the teq we live with today are never working at its op because something better is always around the corner. perhaps we should just stop and try to enjoy what we have..... just a thought ....

2 500mw generators per day. That's one gw per day so 365 gw/year. So 56 years to replace all of the worlds 20 tw of energy use. I would rather get it done in 25 years but the uranium fission bros will perhaps manage the other half.

Remember NOW where you are , what your day is like ... exactly as we've done growing up before the home computer and the internet , iphone . How life's daily momentum moved ... as everything we know is about to change and NEVER return . A completely new paradigm we will be living in . Remember the Mayen calendar that recently came to its end, and everyone wondered what would happen if anything at all?? Well, we are about to see.

Everyone is talking about AI, but people still are woefully unaware that reversible computation is actually a thing. People do not seem to be very sane.

Does reversible computation concern you since you think hardware is our main bottleneck at the moment? Asking from a place of ignorance here.
@josephvanname3377
@josephvanname3377 Жыл бұрын
@@simo4875 Um. Even if hardware is not the main factor, hardware will still be an important factor in the future development of AI. Up until now, most of the progress in AI development has been hardware development. If you look at all of the (more or less) recent innovations in AI such as transformers, diffusion models, res-nets, CNNs, GANs, encoder-decoder networks, etc, you would notice that the many of the ideas behind these innovations are quite simple. On the other hand, if you look at the number of companies who are actually able to manufacture good hardware, you will find a short list containing TSMC, Samsung, and Intel along with ASML for the ultraviolet lithography machines. This is because manufacturing the hardware is very difficult while so far it has been relatively easy to get the software and algorithms right. On the other hand, if we want to solve the problems of AI safety, alignment, and interpretability, we have a lot of work to do on creating better algorithms, and we should have done a lot more work a long time ago.
