I don't require one of these as I just have a Sound Bar for the TV and a separate Amplifier for my Hi-fi. This one reviewed here sounds great if it is required, but find VU Meters not necessary. Great timing for your posting as I was able to watch during the half time of the Football.

VU meters are cool... love the look of them, for sure. But the ability to switch amps (and speakers) to me is what makes this worthwhile.

@Channel33RPM Hi Frank. In my setup I use a switch system that I ordered from Italy and it was also not cheap US$130. It is very well made and metal construction. Has 4 switch push buttons. Amplifier 1, Amplifier 2, Speaker A and Speaker B. I wish it had VU meters :)

Those Niles SVC-4 units certainly look stylish and well-built, but you're not getting the VU meters as eye candy and the speaker pins on the back are fine, but do not look as rugged as the banana plug speaker connectors on the NeoHipo ET30. Those Niles units with their fairly minimalist design would certainly look great with vintage amplifiers by Sansui, NAD, Creek Audio, etc. Thanks for mentioning that unit being able to handle four pairs of speakers since that is certainly worth considering depending on one's testing needs. :)

I was very interested in buying one of these switchers until I realized how they are hooked up, you can't send the same audio signal through the 2 amps - it's either one or system or the other. I would like to compare the same source through different amps.... so this defeats the purpose :( Sometimes I want to hear my records through a solid state amp and other times through my tube amp.
@henrys3629

What the VU? As much as I want this, I'm not sure where i can put it or should I get a vintage one. Needles doing something is important for visuals only.

@TorontoJon 17 күн бұрын
If you want to play two sets of speakers at the same time, most vintage amplifiers or receivers (and plenty of new ones) give you that option already. For example, I play two pairs of speakers using my vintage Marantz 2270 receiver (and other receivers in my collection made by Bang & Olufsen, Harman/Kardon, Pioneer, Yamaha, Sony, Sansui, Akai, Scott, etc.).
