This week I'm back in the Cotswolds again for another English countryside escape! This time staying at somewhere completely different, a cosy cabin set in a 130 acre nature reserve.

How great to see a former rock quarry returned to nature. Stunning cabin. So much beautiful wood. Going to such a place on a week day or during off season always pays off with the solitude factor. Certain places are all about seeing the sights, but 'just being' out in nature is special. I love gardens for the same reason. I've become quite a fan of your historic house garden videos.

This was so amazing to watch - I stayed in that cabin (Moondara), with my husband and two dogs in January and it was magical. I didn't want to leave. We have booked two more stays for this year in different cabins, but I have a feeling Monndara will always be my favourite. xxx

Beautiful and peace-filled cabin and surroundings. Cabin could be found here in U.S., but that roof line mimic's a thatched and gives it a special quality. Thank you.

So lovely! It’s funny, I’m used to seeing such scenes as this stateside, but I realized that a cabin by the lake might be less common in your neck of the woods. 🤓 Looked so cozy, and those roasted marshmallows were some of the prettiest I’ve ever seen!
