I know exactly what you mean when you say that you are sleeping, but the sleep you get isn’t refreshing/ energizing because of rather intense dreams. From what I have learned over the years of ‘intense dreaming’ is that they are mostly a sign of anxiety and stress. (grief is basically stress) You will get better eventually once you recover from whatever causes your subconscious to be stressed. Depending on what that is, it can take a while. There are lots of methods to ease anxiety and release stress out there nowadays that can speed up the healing process. You just need to find out what works for you the best! I lost my little brother this year due to his long life battle with his kidney issues and I just want to say I am soo sorry for your loss. I get anxiety so bad and I haven’t been able to sleep I will be praying for you and for some comfort 💔 I love your videos especially on a rainy day at home!

I’ve had those dreams my dad passed in 2015 and for about 3 years after that I’d have like dream memories and things where he would talk to me about stuff that’s going on. I call them dream visits and keep a whole dream diary on them. Though Id never forget them because they are so life like and vivid. Sending you hugs xx

My mum died when I was 19. The dreams can be so real they're completely exhausting. What I can tell you is that it does somehow become easier (weird as that is) and the dreams do stop and sometimes you'll have a lovely dream where he will come and sit with you and talk with you but you'll wake up with happy tears. Those dreams are my favourite xx

Gemma I know what you mean! I am exhausted when I wake up from my sleep and it’s honestly because our souls are so busy at night going through all these dream experiences good/bad. One thing I like to do is open my windows, sage myself naked before my shower, you’ll feel nice and light, also sage your room and bed, it takes the heavy energies from the night before away. This allows me to feel light and protected for the night ahead. Give it a go if you like ☺️❤️✨

You’re not alone 💛 I’ve had the same kind of dreams and drained energy... I lost my grandad last month to a fast acting cancer. He was my everything, he looked after me from the age of 5 when my parents passed away... he was my dad really! It’s hard and if anyone reads this... don’t take life and family for granted.. enjoy every moment .. 💛🌸

Same. Those blogs were my favs coz they laughed so much and I think Sophie brings out the joy in Gemma and they revert to childlike behaviour (in a good way.) it's so fun and enjoyable to watch. It's lovely that Gemma found someone but i do miss Sophie and she's never mentioned anymore either. 🤔☹️Xx

It is the body's way of releasing and relieving trauma. When my mum passed a couple of years ago I went through the same thing you are describing. Tbh, my sleep still is not back to how it used to be, and I don't think I will ever have that quality of sleep again. A grief counsellor told me to be very aware of how my mum appears to me in my dreams, no matter how crazy the dream is, because that is their way of communicating with you! I hope this helps!

Yes to these dreams!! But I can’t help because I’ve not had good sleep since I lost my dad 3 years ago. I will say when you have dreams of a loved one where they are with you and your aware they have passed away they can be visits. I had many of these in the days following my loss almost every night I was told it was my dad showing me he hasn’t left me and reassuring me he is still here. I still get them now but not as much and like you I wake up in tears. Some nights I wake up and can smell my dad so clearly. It is lovely but like you say you don’t wake rested you wake up exhausted. It’s also you processing your grief whilst your sleep... Sending love to you. Try and up the self care and invest in some sleep products to help aid restful sleep. And find comfort that your dad is no doubt showing you he is still with you ♥️

Just so you know for me your video's are a reality escape. in the evening / night hours mostly, when after a day ( everyday) of running around the house chasing my 10 months old , cooking 3 different meals . cleaning watching bad news . corona , the world going crazy. hate and dispear. I prefer to escape at least half an hour a day before a go to sleep until baby wakes up in the middle of the night .cause even dreaming is impossible now. so yeah a big thank you Gemma. you really help.me. this past year

I sometimes wake up and feel like I've not had enough sleep (despite getting a full eight hours) because I was so busy in my dream... So what you said makes total sense. Also...That's exactly how excited I would be over a tin of pumpkin purée!! Can't wait for the Christmas videos!! xxxxxx

The dreams are completely normal, your not mad. My mums been gone 1 year 7 months and i still wake up 2/3 time a night, have horrible nightmares and wake up crying. Hoping one day my sleep pattern will go back to normal, but it’s very draining 😥 Love you girl ❤️❤️

I completely agree with what you said about dreams, I feel like dreams are such a weird thing, it's like you're in an unconscious state of mind having these visuals which aren't quite deja vu, or about your past, just about weird combinations of life. Gemma, I really love your personality which is very endearing. You have made me fall in love with british grey hair cats because Tily has her own show! That cat is so cute and funny it's beyond words! Also, I'm not a baker, but you inspire me to start with simple delicious recipes so thank you! I am very sorry of the passing of your dad and the traumatic grief processes you are experiencing. Time is a healer. I lost my own dad over 20 years ago and it doesn't feel that long; however, I am in a place of peace and I believe the same will be for you too soon. You seem to be doing a fantastic job coping with it all and have the right help and support around you and it's normal for emotions to be up and down, stay strong and keep shinning like the star you are. You can buy pumpkin purée from supermarkets in the UK. It’s usually in the section where all the world foods are ☺️ we use the recipe on the side of the can to make pumpkin pie, it’s delicious!

I lost my Nannan 10 years ago this christmas and ever since she had died I have dreams like you do where shes alive in my dream but I know it's not real and I'm stressed I wake up sweating , but in my dreams shes always younger and in her old house which holds so many good memories in. The dreams are bitter sweet i enjoy the hugs but waking up is sad. I feel for you xxx

Dreams make you feel so drained because it’s not deep sleep, I feel like everyone is having way more dreams in lockdown than they would normally. I sometimes dream random day to day things then they happen a few months later and in the moment I get deja vu, I also used to dream I would fly if I started running while I was grieving a loss. I also think you should 100% get your lips dissolved, they were much better before you had any filler at all you’re so naturally gorgeous 💓

You aren’t going mad. I had the same dream pattern. It will get better. Now when I dream of my Dad or step Dad, I feel blessed for the time I had with them in that dream. And although I have a bit of sadness, it’s wistful, and my smile is happy.

I'm so sorry for what you've been going through! ❤ I'm lucky enough to still have both my parents, but I've lost all my grandparents, and I was quite close to them. I sometimes dream with them (just like last night), and I always wake up crying. But it's still kind of nice to see them in a different way. You are so strong that although you're drained after your dreams, you are still working, and encouraging and inspiring us. I wish you peace, and peaceful nights!

My nan passed away 4 years ago when I was 14 in front of me and afterwards I would have dreams of people close to me passing away in the dreams even though they were alive. I would wake up crying and I didn't cope well with it suffered from depression and PTSD and one night I had a dream of my nan and she kissed me on the cheek and told me that I had to live my life and that's what I did. I still remember the night she died clearly but I'm now 18 and I'm trying to live my life to the fullest

I got them dreams for a while after my dad passed. I’d have like nightmares of the last memories with him leading up and now 6 years on I hope for the dream visits especially when I’m missing him or having a hard time. Just one hug and I can feel him for days. So weird but it comes when I need it most. ❤️

Hello Gemma, whe are watching you from Patagonia Argentina, also rainy here. When my mother pass away (it has been 17 years) a few days later a dreamed her.. and the only thing that I remember today about that dream is her laughing, she was completely happy and I always felt that I had that dream because she was trying to tell me that she was finally happy and that I should not cry her any more and keep going, it really helped me get through that moment, I believe that they come to our dreams to let us know that they are in a much better place, I hope this can help you in some point (sorry if my english is not very good). When my dreams include my father (who passed 14 years ago) I wake up delighted as it feels like I have had extra time with him. However I do remember the earlier ones being more stressful as I knew he had passed but didn’t know if he knew - if that makes sense.

So sorry for your loss 💔cant imagine how you are feeling. I went through something similar when I lost my grandad a two year ago . And my nanny passed from dementia a couple of weeks ago and going through the grieving now which is hard espcially even more in these covid times as I didnt get to say goodbye to her before she passed due to visiting restrictions in nursing homes . So it's so comforting that you understand as your going through losing a loved one too❤ sending all the love and support to you xx here if you need someone to understand and listen x

I have had real vivid dreams when my grandma passed away, very vivid like they are real. I am a very spiritual person and spirits find it easier to come to you in a dream state, this is your dad visiting you. You will know when that is as the dream is vivid, you wake up thinking it was real and feel very strange. Take comfort in it 💗💗

Buying a house is so stressful. I’ve just bought my first house with my parter at 19 and we are so happy to be in it but the whole process of buying it was so stressful, files with disappointment and things getting messed up cause of Corona. All worth it in the end and will be wishing for you to get this house, if you don’t remember everything happens for a reason and a better one will come around 💜💜💜

So, tomorrow we have a 100% chance of rain, so you best believe that I'll be having a pamper day!! I can't wait to see your new kitten-baby!!! I think Tilly will be a great big sis.... and when she's had enough, she'll jump up on top of the kitchen cabinet to escape!! I'm chuckling, in a nice way, pumpkin is just like plain squash.... nothing great. But when added to a recipe, it is magical!! It's all about the spices!!

My mum passed away when i was 10 and I still have those dreams waking up crying. They aren't so often, it gets better. Sending you lots of love especially over the holidays 💕

Hey Gemma. Just loved this cosy vlog today. Nothing better on a rainy day. It was so good you showing us lots of different bits, from zara to Tilly to Bath bomb to baking loved it all. And YES YES the 10 o'clock cereal, its just our bodies letting us know that it autumn 😂😂🍂🍁

I wake up with an overwhelming sadness and new loss when i dream of my Mum who died age 57 it was back in 1999 but i still miss her daily, it was constant for years and years and i couldn't stop it ... you have to train your brain not to dream of them as if they are still here..I ended up getting a dreamcatcher tattoo i have to make sure it is the last thing i see and say to myself that i adore and love my Mum but i really don't her to be the star of EVERY dream and it does work unless i don't do the night time ritual .. an actual dreamcatcher may work with you but it didn't with me xxx

I meant to say as well that I have had similar experiences with very vivid dreams with dearly departed loved ones - one particularity I believe was a visitation and it was so powerful and absolutely the experience is overwhelming and so sad but sweet at the same time. As you speak a lot about LOA and spirituality, I believe it is quite likely if you're open to it then you could be receiving messages from spirit and especially from your loved ones. This is a potent season for connecting with dearly departed loved ones as well - if you wanted to you might find it comforting looking into reading about ancestors or mediumship maybe.
