As DVC Members you have a certain time frame to use or lose your points. We had some points that were saved from the previous year and would lost if not used this year. We decided to take our chances and see Disney in its weakest time during the Pandemic. There were so many rule changes and we weren't sure how it would turn out. The mask mandate really worried me with the heat and we worried we might get COVID from the crowds. We loved the line spacing, the hand santitizer stations, the plexiglass walls in the line cues, and many of the rules we wish would stick around. But, so many restaurants, quick service stands, and attractions were closed that if felt like those closures created more crowds at the open ones. Honestly, it felt JUST as crowded to us as it did pre-pandemic. They were very strict on the mask policies. If you were walking and eating popcorn, they would approach you and tell you to kindly step to the side and eat. No walking with mask down. No photos with masks down. We even got yelled at walking to our car in an empty parking lot by a cast member because one of the kids had their mask down. It was like the mask police were in full force. I understand some of it especially indoors and when close to people but when there is nobody in site and your outside, it seemed a little ridiculous. My biggest disappointment was just not being able to see my kids smile during the rides. It certainly took a lot of the magic out of the experience. We decided we wouldn't return until the pandemic was over after this. (If it ever ends that is).
