Hi Fern I have to say since you moved into your new home you look absolutely amazing! I love your long hair! I’m from ME and I get the whole SAD thing. I find my grow lights really help! I leave mine on all day, I’ve seen many who only use at night, that would drive me nuts. Hope your seasonal depression is much better this year in your beautiful sunny new home❤ stay happy friend🪴🍃🪴

Thanks for all the lovely content! Regarding rooting your cactus, I had a succulent that would not root in soil or pon, so I read that if you put them above water, like the roots it has or the base like 1cm above water, the roots will start going to reach the water, I was trying to save the lil guy, and am thrilled to report it worked! I used a little bud vase and after about 3 weeks or so we have 3-5 cm of roots. I love when you use the mic!

I felt the same way about using power tools and it comes out alright. I asked for a circular saw one year for Christmas. I loved that. I would cut up wooden boards, 2x4 boards for fire wood. Plus a neighbor moved and gave me their fire wood but it was too big for my little wood stove. So between my hatchet and the circular saw I could cut and split wood. Then I stacked in my front post h to stay dry. It was right by the front door. Now I’m someplace without a fireplace. I miss those days.

I love the vibes of this video! I like the mix of music over sped up parts and also including some ambient noise as well. Hearing the dogs in the background and your little hums along with the general plant care sounds are so soothing to me and just add so much to the video. I hope your frydek does well in that setup, I look forward to seeing updates because I live vicariously through you until I can get my hands on one of my own 😍

I love all your planty videos. I’ve learned a lot and you’re just good company. You’re jungle boogie looks SO good in your scorpion planter. I’ve been hoping to get one of the butterfly pots, but they keep being unavailable. I don’t know if they’ll ship to Alaska anyway. Being in southeast Alaska I’m in the neighborhood and share your light issues. I have supplemental grow lights over my windows! Anyway, I’m mostly popping on to say thank you for all the work you do. It’s very much enjoyed and appreciated. My big, getting ready for winter project was a quilted windbreak by my front door, so the plants all along my front windows don’t get blasted with cold air every time the door opens.

thanks for such a lovely video! it was perfect because i planned on taking today to catch up on some things and having this on in the background was amazing. this is my first winter with with more than a few plants, 20 something now i think, and i've just finished setting up some grow lights and moving some plants off the windowsill (it gets cold here and the landlord hasn't turned the heat on yet). it's a little scary, but i'm hoping everyone survives their first winter!

Love that light bar! Just a tip, you want to wipe the aria with rubbing alcohol and let it dry before installing an adheasive. The wax and dust can interfere with the bond.

As usual, great video! Houseplants are a lot of experimenting with individual environments. I live in the SoCal low desert and no longer use humidifiers. Philodendrons and Hoyas and even Orchids grow and flourish just fine without supplementing humidity.

Fern I appreciate any chatting or just sitting and listening.. It's ALL GOOD! I live in Toronto and my humidity is usually about 50-60% but my hubby is a window guy so if i run my humidifier in the winter and condensation starts on the windows he freaks! Haha! Love the new soltech light but too rich for my blood.. Today I have to repot a crystallinum (i'm not loving it because its growing huge) and the only thing I've got big enough is a HUGE plastic container that had cheeseballs in it from costco.. Hope it fits.. kisses to Olive 💚🐶☕

Totally agree i love this sleek grow lights. And is great comes in white which i prefer this aesthetic. They remind me the ones people install under there kitchen cabinets and inside wardrobes those dark areas for every lighting. I definitely love the ones where you can charge them without seeing the wires. I wonder if those types can benefit plants too. Grow lights are so expensive €100 for one even with the discount codes. Been thinking installing one on my long wooden plant shelf’s not sure if work for ones with 4 shelves tall. If the light can shine all the way down. My bear succulents both varieties just gone they are such a delicate plants. I wish the plant community would mention the plant sticks as bamboo or wooden sticks instead of referring them as chopsticks. Is not given us Asian people a good repetition for it as there used for eating. I like having items use what there supposed to be used for separating them in there own categories.

My Frydek went dormant in soil because I don’t particularly have a green thumb and I was so devastated (my bff got it for me for my bday bc it’s my favorite plant). I put it in pon as a last ditch effort but fully thinking it would die and it’s THRIVING. Hopefully yours loves it too!

Wow, that mic really makes a difference. Your voice is so nice and soothing with it. The new plant shelf with the light looks amazing, especially with all the succulents. Loved this one. Makes me really want a philo narrow. 💚 the Grove light looks beautiful on the shelf. I’m starting to think about moving my more temperature sensitive plants out of the window and into warmer locations. Also will need to get more grow lights to help them out. Eyeing those Aspect lights though they are definitely an investment 😅 Thanks for another lovely video. 🪴💚
