Broh, I just started about a week ago. Haven't put that many hours in, and love this game. Made 1 friend/ally, and I'm trying to learn the map but it's so challenging as a new player.

Yep it's definitely hard to navigate as a new player, especially for us back before mods were a thing. A lot of modded servers now will have an ingame map you can use by pressing M, or if not there's things like iZurvive which can help learn the map!

@@brandonc1178 I have ventured off official servers...I have met a group of players and we have ran on a few community servers now. It's fun and the community is great. I've had nothing but a good experience, but I know thats different for everyone. If I had to pick a con, I'd say d/l'ing the mods for different servers can be a pain in the ass.

I think it’s really important for dayz creators to tell their viewers about modded servers. I don’t think a ton of players know. most people just pop into an official dayz server with absolutely no loot and nothing going on.

I spent over a year on Sunnyvale Livonia last year and loved it.. wish the south had more because it doesn't really give people to go south! It's hard to find one with a good modded south

Tough to say, isn't much you can buy currently because of the market situation. I have a Ryzen 3600x which performs well, and a GTX 1070 which is getting a little outdated. Most new prebuilts are alright and it's the only way you can get a new RTX GPU

It's a mod for the server! A lot of the community servers will have mods you can download, and will often have a "party system" mod so you know where your friends are at all times. This server was called DayZ Aftermath

Livonia is the only official map release/dlc from Bohemia. All of the other ones are free just from downloading them from the Steam workshop.

On Aftermath you can use scrap metal for crafting. I think to make tier 2 & 3 doors/gates you'll need scrap metal in the workbench. We weren't entirely sure at the time as it was our first playthrough on the server

All depends on the scenario tbh, I personally had to stop one of my vids that had planned on being a multiple part series because the server had wiped and I didn't have enough footage to make another video.

I honestly dislike servers like these. The fact that you can mark where you wanna go and the also how you can see when people are in your area cause of some zone. I wish more people played vanilla or close to it because severs like these take all the competition out and make the game to easy. Don’t get the real day z experience

I like the maps but i think you shouldn't spawn with it it should be a item and friend markers should be smaller when looking at them like a small colored shape above your friends head
