This Citizen eco-drive pilot's watch has many contrasting features. A big watch face with short lugs, a busy inner bezel with a clean inner dial; does this equate to a good-looking watch?

I got into watches in late 2014 with the Seiko Orange Monster gen 2 and a Seiko 5. i was gifted a Citizen Nighthawk the same year and it is the only watch I still have in my collection from back then. A good bracelet and an extremely interesting way to incorporate a GMT hand and a slide rule I never use. I think it is an excellent watch.

This watch is a absolute legendary watch and weirdly addictive....I actually dont like citzen watches at all.....I owned this watch by accident & never looked back....Ive bumped into other Nighthawk owners too that also own rolex's ...but everyone has same opinion its the ultimate daily ...Ive heard rumours its a cult followin apparently within law enforcement??...but also too Im now luckly to be in a financial position in life to be in market for a Rollie -but have plans on owning BJ7000-52E again for watch box....only thing I will do this time is upgrade to a aftermarket premium sapphire glass after seriously giving hell to my previous nighthawk to point it was just rude & the mineral glass was its only flaw with few scratch inclusions & evidence of my rough abuse (ie. its weakest point to be super critical) 🤙

I still have the same Nighthawk I purchased back in 2008/2009 and it's one of two watches I own where I've seen multiple other people wearing it over the past 15 years. Funny you mention Rolex because recently I purchased a vintage steel Oyster Perpetual (34mm) with a silver sunburst dial. I love my 15200 but it's my evening watch; the Nighthawk is an all-timer and a must-have as a daily driver in an entry-level watch collection. These two watches are the perfect vacation pairing: the Oyster for visiting the local shops during the day then going out to dinner and drinks at night while the Nighthawk is perfect for going hiking, day at the beach, etc. The bracelet is one of the best-looking out there and, if you squint, kinda looks like a hybrid between the Perpetual and Presidential bracelets. I think this is one reason some Rolex owners take a second look. Oddly enough, it was the first thing to fail on mine, but the original lasted for 13+ years. Thankfully, Citizen carried the OEM replacement at the time, and, despite costing almost as much as a new model, I was more than happy to buy it and keep my original going.

Wow, wrist size really does make or break a watch. I have the same nighthawk and it looks tiny on my wrist, but big on yours. I think it still suits you

Thank you. I ended up selling this watch in the end, it felt too bukly on my wrist. I picked up a seiko flightmaster recently because of its popularity, but it too feels too bulky.

@@AChannelAboutWatches that’s too bad, you wore it well I think. I’ve thought about picking up a flightmaster as well and I just might. Another close match is the Citizen JY8030-83E but I believe it may be even bigger?

I hope you didn't sell the watch bro cause it looks perfectly fine on you. Don't live life by what others say or think...just buy what you like that makes "you" happy and F**K what anyone else says. I learned that lesson later in life but now I don't give a S**T what people say or think about the things I wear or how I live my life. Life is too dam short to be worried about what some other unperfect human being or beings are gonna say or think about you and the things you wear. I'm not gay bro but you're a handsome guy and that watch looks great on your wrist.
