I got one of those when i got my powercab but its far to short and if you put the handset down you have to be careful it doesn't cause it to shoot off like a bit of elastic .

It is when its new - it gradually loosens up and becomes very useful.

I prefer the curly cables on things. Just need to stretch this one out a bit by the looks of it.

It is a bit short, I'll grant you.

It's just a RJ12 straight wired cable, available on most electronics sites in various colours, but get a decent one.
@MessingaboutwithModels2 жыл бұрын
It needs to be of the right grade and shielding, because it carries an electrical load, which most RJ12 cables arnt designed to do.

Does this cable have the heavier wire that NCE state is used for the Power Cab?
@MessingaboutwithModels2 жыл бұрын
Yes, its specifically designed to work with the PowerCab, unlike other curly cables, which may have the right wires, but arnt of the required standard to carry the power.

Question. I've recently acquired a NCE power cab. I've programmed my locos on a separate track which was fine and they worked on that track but when I switched them to the layout it doesn't seem that any commands are going to the locos. I've tested the track and it does have power. Is there something I should have done on the cab??
@MessingaboutwithModels2 жыл бұрын
No, there isnt anything you ought to do. What you could do is remove all your locos but one, and then treat your layout like a giant programming track. Read back the CVs, to test the communication with the loco.

@@MessingaboutwithModels I've noticed that there is no draw of power on the power cab register

i need a longer cable really. can you buy longer versions do you know?
@MessingaboutwithModels2 жыл бұрын
It stretches out to about 2 metres in length. I dont think they sell another one, but you'd probably have another panel if your layout was that large.
