A viewer of the show reached out with an early 90s Les Paul Studio he wanted to sell. He didn't know if it was a Studio Lite or a Regular Studio... and I was intrigued enough to buy it to find out for sure because it featured some elements of both and is a cool "Custom Shop Edition" Studio from my favorite era of the model

I owned this exact guitar for several months. I bought it from my next door neighbor. It's funny to see it finally reached Trogly's show. I knew it was a cool guitar, and that he has an affinity for the custom shop editions. I sold it on Reverb in March of 2022 to someone in Nashville, I believe. My store name is GuitarAlly.

I have a 1992 studio lite you helped me verify. I got it from reverb, it was sold as a regular studio, so I was confused to see the chromite! The pickup cavity is stamped trans blue but it came out of the factory black with gold hardware and kluson tuners. The lites mostly had black hardware with grovers. I'd send it to you to document but the electronics have been replaced and repaired multiple times. It has a very thin neck and has become my favorite guitar out of my collection!

I had a 1994 wine red studio with gold hardware and ebony board a few years back, paid very little for it as it was a local collection only eBay auction and filthy, but I could see its potential. It cleaned up great, sounded amazing and then for financial reasons I had to sell it because I knew it was one thing that I owned that I would make money on really quickly. Needs met at the time, but a massive regret as I would have kept it forever

From having seen this show I'm guessing that you meaning Austin or Trogley are much younger than myself. It is so refreshing that mich younger people still respect the old classic rock and roll . I know to many guys much younger that act like the current music coming out originated styles and playing techniques when we all know nothing is further from the truth.

That neck pickup looks a lot like what I came across in a guitar that I was recently working on for someone. They found an old PRS SE at a yard sale for $50 that needed a ton of work. Anyway, it looked like the guitar was left in their car on a hot day. Almost all of the wax from the neck pickup had leaked out into the pickup cavity. Very little remained in the pickup itself. Strangely, the bridge pickup mostly avoided the same fate as the neck pickup. Might have been covered up by something if the guitar wasn't in a case? Not sure why they were so different, but interesting, nonetheless.

I never really got behind the Les Paul guitar without the binding... the very first Les Paul I can recall seeing would have to be a burst in the window of a Seattle pawn shop during the early 60s and that binding surrounding the edge caused the whole guitar to pop. Mom was probably driving as I strained to check out the guitar in the window.. I've come to appreciate the studio especially with the cream colored soap bars - sweet tone!

I bought the Greenburst Studio. That Trogley opened his show with on guitar hunting from Reverd a year and a couple months ago. Had he not said that he trusted the dealer that was selling it I wouldn't even have considered it. It's obviously seen some miles having been built in September of 1882. It had Seymour Duncans stick from the factory. I do not regret buying. Well except for the 10.47 lbs of guitar weight. Only thing was it didn't come with a case but then they mysteriously hit up trying to sell me chainsaw case true to LP guitars from that era. They wanted $450 bucks which was way to much for something that had a latch problem and serious wear.
