Been to the actual Sierra Nevada mountain range in Andalousia, Spain just a month ago. Great experience. It was really warming up in Granada as spring weather rolled in but the mountain peaks were still snow covered. Can totally recommend visiting that area at that time because you get the best of both worlds. Also the number of tourists are not as crazy as during summer so also a great time to visit the of course world famous Alhambra over there. The pictures you get from the ancient fortress are of course much more beautiful with the snow capped peaks in the background.

@stevec6629 Well with actual i obviously ment that the Spanish named the mountains after the ones back home. But yes, you are correct, the Sierra Nevada in Spain is smaller. Still, tiny would be a bit of an understatement. The Mulhacén peak is with 3,482 meter the tallest mountain on the Spanish mainland. The tallest mountain of the country of Spain is the Teide volcano on the island of Tenerife.

Not sure if you're still in the area but a great hike with amazing views you can do is Cave Rock, located about 10 minutes from the casinos there at Stateline. You pass through a tunnel through the rock along Highway 50. There is a parking lot just south of the rock along Cave Rock Drive. The views from the top of the rock are epic!

The tragic part about Lake Tahoe is that it has become an exclusive playground for rich people. Lower & middle class people have been priced out. Local businesses cant find enough workers due to lack of affordable housing. It wasnt always like this.

Most of the nice places in California have become the same way. Many of the lower and middle class people are priced out. The exceptions are the ones who double up or triple up to share expenses. Two families in a house is becoming more and more common. Share the bedrooms and some sleep on the sofa.

If you like this kind of scenery, you would like several areas of Norway, like central parts of southern Norway. The western parts of Norway have the quite spectacular fjords. Channels, inlets going deep into the mountains, which steadily grows higher up to about 2000 meters ( 6000 feet ). There is the big plateau glacier area of Jostedal glacier with a quite plentiful of valley glaciers coming down from it of various sizes and lengths. Scaling mountains of varies degrees of difficulty is very common here as a past time for locals - and tourists also. But do ask about the difficulty, and do take notice of the weather the day you go out. I noticed when you went to eastern part of Norway and Oslo a few years ago, you did only get to see that kind of landscape, so western part of Norway is very different indeed, a completely different kind of natural environment. It is sort of the icon of Norway, the fjords areas. Best time to visit would be last part of July and first part of August if you go for mountain walking. If not, May and June could be fine too. But be aware that weather might be quite wet in summer on the west side of Norway. It varies quite a bit between the years though.

Happy u showed us Tahoe city and such. For some reason i pictured it more like Detroit Oregon. I didnt know it was built up with Casinos and buildings. I may check out a job there. I'd love to see Carson city and Reno too. When you say your from Mendo county I just assume your family owns a giant field of weed and guns. Its supposed to be 83 in Bend this weekend. That was funny dude, you got the same shoes i got thems Merrils. I got mine for 75 bucks outside of Atlanta Georgia almost 2 years ago. trying to find another pair size 13 wide. At the time they were almost 250usd in Prague ouch. If you pass through the CZ i just moved to Kladno outside of Prague after 14 years in Prague. Some interesting things to video here dude. Love that you are back in NC Tahoe Nevada area. We are the same age we never needed to go to any other place in the Bay Area easy drive to Santa Cruz or go to the mountains to see all that beauty. I got relatives in Reno and Vegas. Unfortunatlly we moved to Atlanta Georgia in 85 i was 14. Hence my leaving the US almost 30 years ago. Passing through the CZ send me a message over the tube. Cheers Gabe keep on it
