I spent the day (actually it was 2 1/2 hours) at the Erie Zoo (www.eriezoo.org) in Erie, Pennsylvania. The zoo has more than 400 animals, while the botanical gardens and greenhouse have over 600 species of plants from around the world. The zoo attracts more than 400,000 visitors a year. I got to see lions, a tiger, a jaguar, zebras, a rhino, a warthog, African wild dogs, penguins, a large alligator, a red panda, monkeys, and other animals, and I finished my fun day at the zoo riding the Safariland Train around the zoo. If you visit Erie, I definitely recommend visiting the Erie Zoo!
