Because he is now the poor off in the Country. Cant afford to live in Downtown. Ask when he will buy house in proper Toronto . Only in dreams.

Data Engineer . Do you have P.Eng after your name . If so why is your office a shared table with dozens of people. Also engineer , you should order a cuisine lunch . Not going to food court and eating your food you made at home . The PATH network has many nice restaurants an engineer like you could afford.
