Our moderator Lisa Kestel goes on a tour of discovery through beautiful Mainz, the state capital of Rhineland-Palatinate. In front of the city is the largest German wine-growing region, Rheinhessen. It is not for nothing that "Woi" and a lot of "Schoppen" accompany the people of Mainz every day. Around 220,000 people live here and are only a bridge away from the next federal state and the Hessian state capital Wiesbaden. The Meenzer not only flourish in their crazy carnival season, science also plays a major role for them. In 2011, Mainz was named the City of Science. The ZDF Mainzelmännchen are certainly known here, but there are other creative minds who make the city so special. So there is so much to see and discover!
