Hi guys, I am back with the uni content! This year's uni content will be a bit different since I changed my major for my master's degree. I graduated with an academic bachelor's degree in the arts (graphic design) and decided to go a whole different route for my master's programme. I am currently studying International Relations (or IR for short) and diplomacy at the university of Antwerp. In this vlog I take you along on a day at uni with me and I'll also talk about the feeling of imposter syndrome ever since I started this master's programme. ✨🤍🧸 Navigating your student life and just your twenties in general can be hard sometimes so I just wanted to show you guys that not everything online is sunshine and rainbows... I hope this video can bring you some comfort 🫶🏾

Hi, thank you for watching! And to answer your question... I think it might depend from country to country... In my country (Belgium) I believe you have to have a master degree. It doesn't have to be in IR, but it is required to be able to apply to the diplomat "training program" and you have to pass a state exam and evaluation to be admitted to that program. My school's description of my master degree describes it as a good preparation for this state exam to be admitted to the training programme so that's why I choose this major. But If you want to dig deeper into the world of diplomacy I would recommend you doing your research on topics like international law, history of international relations, international economics and of course be on top of current events and conflict in the news! I hope this answer is of some use to you! :))

Where is your university located Can you share the admissions process for bachelor degree in your university Can i get anything to know more about your subject & university

My university is located in Antwerp, Belgium!! To be able to be admitted into the bachelor degrees here you should be in possession of a high school degree. The only bachelor degrees that require any admissions exam or something are for medicine and art school. For international students it might depend on the country… some countries high school degrees have to meet certain requirements I believe! I hope this helps!! :))

Currently, I am studying in Korea and my bachelor major is International Studies so Is it ,do you think, possible for me to apply for International Relation for my masters? or not? And What is your thought about language problem in Belgium? Is it not that hard to live and study with English without knowing the native one?

I really appreciate it :) In regards to your admission... we have a lot of modules in English but unfortunately we also have a few mandatory modules in Dutch. So I can't tell for sure if your admission to this master will be guaranteed. The best thing you can do is e-mail my faculty and explain your situation.
