*I loved this new style of video! It was like having coffee with you on a Sunday morning!! Thank you for sharing all this amazing content! My husband and I are moving into our FIRST home from a condo this week, so needless to say, your content has showed us what we are in store for (only in Ohio, not Texas!)*

Aww, yay! Thank you so much Kristen! I appreciate you! 🖤 Home ownership is so exciting but also so much more work than I thought it would be LOL! Literally last night at dinner, Billy was like "when I get paid on the first, we are fixing that kitchen faucet!" It never ends 😂😂

Michelle, I really liked how casual you were in this video. I felt like I was just sitting with a friend swapping tips with each other. There were actually a couple of times I said aloud “I do that too.” 😂 Great video and I apologize for all the Texans how unbearably HOT this summer has been. Hopefully September will be cooler.

Perfect timing on this video! I just finished the first week of school and am working on balancing out school and home priorities. You offered so many helpful reminders of how to save time. My husband and I usually meal prep for the week, but I decided to go with some pre-made food and frozen vegetables for lunches next week to keep things easy. Also, I loved the fur baby content, puns, and the Office clips, as usual. Keep up the great work. I hope you have an enjoyable and productive week ahead!

Premaking copies is a game changer. I've even gotten to the point of running off the unit or chapter in one go. My principal saw me doing it one time and asked why I was making so many copies in one go. I told her it was for the unit. She thought about it for a second and, then, said that it was actually pretty smart. Your Target story made my day. :)

1. I absolutely love the format of this video. Please continue to do this. :) 2. I hear you on the "it's ok to not do it all." My bathroom shower is a mess. I finally got a strong hold on my kitchen (although it needs to be dusted and walls washed). Not only can life get in the way, but depression plays a big part of it for me. 3. A rice cooker has saved SO MUCH TIME. I seriously cannot cook rice in a pot. I don't know what is wrong with me, but the rice cooker is a life saver. LOL.

Ember has a lot of anxiety around people she doesn't know and other dogs (which is super common for her breed). We've tried introducing her slowly to nearby dog parks as a stepping stone (because at least we are around as opposed to a doggy day care where she would be without us which causes even more anxiety for her) and it hasn't gone well. She doesn't like dogs coming up to her and wants to just be with us. We know social interaction is important but it's going to take a while with her.

Hey Michelle! This is one of my favorite videos that you’ve done. It was like having a chat with an old friend. I can so relate to a lot of the things you talked about in the video. App distraction is a real thing. I have also deleted apps to make it harder to get to them. Those stray dog hairs!! I felt that one in my soul!! My #1 distraction is also my puppy. It is really hard to get work done when she wants to play. I’ve been working on the strategies I learned from you and Bridget at the PA event and have been able to get more done at work. Now I have more time at home to spend with my family and pets. Thank you so much for that!!

This video has been so much fun! Ember is absolutely precious! She is the perfect doggo! This video spoke to me in so many ways. I was saying yes to all your tips! I’ve struggled a lot lately at work, and it has affected me in my personal life also. I’m in the position where if I say no, I am tattled on as not being a team player if I say no (it brings back a lot of bad memories for me because I am in the business of pleasing so many people)! This statement defines it for me: “I act like an adult, but my coworkers act like children”! My running took a hit, I probably ran the worst race of my life recently (I told another friend who ran the same race that it was the worst I have run since high school😭).

I honestly wish I could be as organised as you. I start back work in a week with classroom setup etc this week. I have a crazy timetable this year and some severe learning difficulties in my class. I feel exhausted just thinking about the start of term. I also have my own business, am writing a book and a mother of three wonderful kids(one with medical conditions and one with SEN). I think it so important to say NO when ready and this video reminds me I need to do this aswell as I am also a great people pleaser.
@PocketfulofPrimary
@PocketfulofPrimary 2 жыл бұрын
Remember... comparison is the thief of joy! You can't compare your situation or level or organization to mine because we all have different strengths and weaknesses. You're right though... it is so important to say no! I recently made an Instagram post about how I used "being busy" as a way to hide behind my perfectionism because if I failed at something, I could just blame it on having too much on my plate. Now, I'm trying to focus on only taking on the projects I am passionate about so I know I can execute them well and don't have to make excuses. I hope things settle down for you soon! 🖤

Perfectionism is a killer! It will kill the joy you could have had with 98% because it wasn’t 100%. I do not think of myself as a perfectionist, but others do. I see myself as trying to do my best, and I know when I’m not giving it my all - so I push a little more. Currently I have been “care taking” fir my 93 year old dad, having just lost my stepmom to a long Alzheimer’s battle just a couple weeks ago. Family “ugliness” has exploded, and lawyers are constant. At the same time I am starting the school year with first graders. All of this is in the same 3 weeks. I keep reminding myself that I can’t do it all, yet that is what is expected of me. The staff motto at school this year is: “Whatever it takes!” I can’t do it all…
@PocketfulofPrimary
@PocketfulofPrimary 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it absolutely is! It's definitely my biggest obstacle to overcome. Hopefully things will slow down and settle for you! You're right... you can't do it all and no one can. I'm sure you're doing a great job as is!

OMG This is so relevant to me at the moment. I was literally saying yes yes yes to everything you were saying. Would you mind advising which would be the best platform for a website for a newbie, not tech teacher who wants to blog and have a You Tube channel... Wix, Square space, Word press or Google sites?? Much appreciate your advice as I have been going around in circles. Love Google sites except their SEO is terrible. Hope you can help!!
@PocketfulofPrimary
@PocketfulofPrimary 2 жыл бұрын
Aww, thank you so much Karen! I'm so happy it resonated with you! As for a blog or website, I highly recommend either Google Sites (free and best for a basic website) or Wix (that's what I use for www.pocketfulofprimary.com). Both are very user friendly and easy to use! If you want more control over SEO, I would recommend using Wix. Wordpress is great as well, but it can be pretty complicated and cumbersome to set up. As for a KZfaq channel, you don't need a website... you would just create the channel here on KZfaq. Hopefully that helps!

Michelle, I loved watching this video. It was nice to just sit down and feel like I was getting to talk with a friend. Your video describes my life right now, and it was so nice to hear that it isn’t just me even though I know that it isn’t. I noticed that you have a Ninja Foodi in your kitchen. Do you happen to have any recipes you could share with us or a place where you find recipes? I have one, but I never can seem to find recipes to use it with.

Aww, thank you so much Veronica! I appreciate you watching and commenting! 🖤 We LOVE our Ninja Foodi! We mostly use it to air crisp veggies or even chicken. Billy finds most of the recipes but maybe I'll try to feature it more in some future videos to share ideas!

+Pocketful of Primary Michelle, When you saying yes to one thing you are saying no to something else. #Truth What a new vision on choices that you have introduced us to that was always there from the beginning and it just took an inspiration like you to see the light. I’m going to say no to my guilt. It’s taking up all my brain power and time and I feel like the smallest person in the world. I made a mistake at work and now I have to jump through some hoops to fix it and no one could be more disappointed in me than me but I’m done with the guilt.

YES! That's a great thing to say no to! I'm the same way, but I've had to accept that I'm never going to be perfect and putting that expectation on myself doesn't solve any problems... it just creates more.
