In 1987, WTOL 11 photojournalists including our Paul Kwapich teamed up to document the many seemingly ordinary events that comprise a cold January day in Toledo, Ohio. Listening to the radio during a morning commute, grabbing a bite to eat at Tony Packo's during a lunch break, then leaving work and having some fun before driving back home. These events may all seem routine, but together they depict the very important lives of folks working together in a beautiful and thriving city.
From pre-dawn to after-dark, let’s take a look at a typical winter day in Toledo, Ohio, in this Emmy Award-winning photo essay from deep within the WTOL 11 archives.

I'm from Erie, PA. I've visited Toledo a bunch of times, and I really like the city. It's really cool to see what it used to look like.

Makes me nostalgic for the past - I would have been 9 years old when this aired. I miss old Toledo but interested to see what lies ahead for the future. Thanks WTOL for posting this. Any more from the archives?
