Hey! Great video! Do you receive a lot of pushback for charging a fee? I love that you covered burnout and setting boundaries!

I really don't get pushback because I make it clear in my first email. I actually don't think I've had anyone back out because of the fee though. If they did, it's all good to me. Clients and Agents should be in a working relationship. Travel Agents have very specific expertise that should be valued!

You'll need a CLIA for the discounts. However, I get commission back when I book my own trips. It's a bit of a "discount" in that sense.

Love your videos they are extremely helpful! I do have some questions though, I am just starting out as a travel agent and I want to focus on Disney/Universal specifically. For your social media how did you get it started to market yourself? Also how did you gain followers starting out?

The easiest (and cheapest) way to gain followers is to engage with other profiles. I used to scroll through profiles related to mine and comment on posts. The other way is to pay for advertisements to gain leads.

Thank you for this!! I went with a host agency that I can work under my brand. There is great training BUT it isn’t just Disney so I’m a bit overwhelmed. I do have a question. When it’s time to put down their deposit you use the clients card info that they gave you yes? Also when you go to check out how do you just do a deposit? Is there an option you choose?

Hi Terri! Yes, you should always use your client’s card for payments. For check out, you can choose to just pay the $200 deposit or you can pay more if your clients want to. The $200 will be deducted from their package total. I suggest pretending to book a vacation so you can see what the checkout page looks like.

Which Disney travel agency is the best to work for and which one do you work for?

It depends on what type of agency you are looking for and what travel you will be selling. I'm under a general Host Agency that allows me to sell travel outside of Disney products.

Hey! Love the video! When a client of yours needs to cancel a trip, are you able to get them full refunds with no cancellation fees? I've always wondered about that aspect of the job.

The travel company will give them a refund if they are within the cancellation date. Always be incredibly explicit about cancellation due dates and refund policies so can avoid the fees. However, you are absolutely not responsible for the refund if they don't cancel on time!

Hello! I'm attempting to make my own guest info form. I'm getting a little lost on what to put for the suffix drop down lol I don't know how many to include. Also how many guests do you recommend are on each form? I was going to do 3-4 but I'm not sure if that's enough. Thank you for your time!

A host agency that I’m talking too mentioned that agents can’t get into and shouldn’t get into the guests MDE account, aka booking fast passes for example. I’m not sure what to believe. Can you help?

Hi there! Your Host Agency may have a policy against it so I would listen to them. However, logging into your client's account is the only way to help with FastPasses and many of us offer this as an extra personal service. Travel Agents will ask permission from the clients and they have to send their information to you if they want your help. I always ask if they are comfortable with this and they can change their password after I'm finished.

So if I just wanted to do this as a part time job, how would you suggest balancing my workload? If I end up getting multiple client leads at once, is it appropriate to "turn down" potential clients? Or would this be bad for business? Hopefully this makes sense lol

You can absolutely turn down clients and it won't hurt your business. Just be professional about it and tell them to reach out to you in the future. I advise only taking on the amount of clients you can handle. That way you can give your current clients the attention they deserve!

It depends on the vacation destination. The standard for vacations can range between 8% to 13%.

The only way to do this is to sign into your client's account. I usually have them give me a temporary password and they can change it once I'm done.

I thought we were supposed to Send quotes and book travel for Disney on the Disney Travel Agent website?

Hi there! Yes, you would sign into your account at DisneyTravelAgents.com first. DTA then refers you to the Disney World website for quotes and booking. The process looks the same once you input your booking info. Your bookings will be attached to your account because you're signed in to your Travel Agent profile. Hopefully, this helps!

Actually you can use the regular Disney website to look for quotes, but I only use DTA because if you book through the regular DW URL you won't get commission. It actually does not refer you to the Disney World website like she stated. It takes you to the DTA Disney World website as you'll see it says DTA in the url. She is going straight to the Disney World website as you can see in the URL. I'm not sure if she isn't using DTA for the video because it shows commissions or what. But they are not the same thing. Prices should be the same whether you use the general public website or DTA, but you should always go through DTA.
