Nationwide Children's Hospital is one of the largest pediatric hospitals in the nation and operates the second busiest Emergency Department in the country. It is also one of the nation's top ten freestanding children's hospitals in National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding. Our staff, facilities, community support and the multitude of programs, specialties and services all make Nationwide Children's the perfect place to complete a pediatric residency.
We offer three pediatric residencies: general pediatrics, internal medicine pediatrics and dual pediatrics. Residents are exposed to an incredibly diverse patient population and receive continuous education and support from our prestigious faculty throughout the duration of the residency.
Learn about dual pediatric residencies in this video ( • A day in the life of a... ) and internal medicine pediatric residencies here ( • A day in the life of a... ).

I think out of all the doctor specialities, this one would bring a person great joy. Nothing is more satisfying than healing a child’s pain and seeing a smile on their face once again.

Start early. Graduate high school when you're eleven, do college in 2 years, finish med school in 3 years, and do 4 years of residency as a doctor training to be pediatrician, then have your own team treating patients by the time you're 20

I'm thinking of being a pediatrics. What are some of the things that I would be doing as a doctor and what are some things that I need to do, study, etc to make it as a pediatric doctor?

U must go for Science in 11th and 12th. Then go for MBBS ( 4.5 Years of study and 1 year of internship) Then go for an MD, which I think is 2-3 years. Take this only if you like children and medicine.

@@ssanahuss focus on sciences and math and take the hardest classes at your school that you can, while still getting mainly As and some Bs. Make sure to check to see what APs are accepted for credit at the colleges you think you'll be applying to (you can check this whenever you take your first AP and make sure the credits are applicable at most schools you're thinking of applying to). If it's not worth it for credits, it can still boost your GPA, and it looks good to have 5s on college apps. Otherwise, save your money and don't take the exam.

Could someone please explain the reason he chose to become a pediatrician instead of an adults' doctor or vice versa?
@lovemae7540
@lovemae7540 4 жыл бұрын
they may just love working with children, or they may be interested in child health and development. there’s many reasons that someone chooses any job, it’s no different for medical students! as for vice versa, obviously there’s the pay, which should never be the sole motivation. that being said, an adults physician almost always has a larger salary. also, an individual may not be great with children, which could cause them to prefer a career helping adults!

Often in medical schools students will do rotations in hospitals where they train and learn in all the departments in a hospital e.g. paediatrics, emergency, family etc. They usually have to do it even if they dont like it. But a lot of people learn what they love during these rounds and choose what they want to specialise
