Never walk behind someone going upstairs. If they fall back you’ve had it.

where should they walk then in order to support, in front of them, backwards? No chance of helping someone catch their balance then.. I'd have thought

20 minutes waiting on the phone. Random carers turning up without notification. Substitute carers not showing up. Call backs take days. Regular carer is excellent but stay away from this company if you're just starting to get help - they have too many clients.

The staircase climbing exercise is a NO-NO for me. As demonstrated, the sw tries steadying the client with her hands. What happens when she suddenly trips or can't weight-bear any longer before getting to the top of the stairs.
