@@guidokleijn To be honest I wanted to have a very big one so that I don't have to scroll around much. But my budget was super limited and my computer is pretty weak too. So 4k was not an option, ultrawide was way too expensive. So I got a 32 inch AOC monitor as a b-stock (damaged packaging) for 140€. Was a very good value for money for me and quality-wise I cannot say anything against it, but mainly cause I've never worked on a really good one :P

After years of editing videos for me and not knowing what to do for life, I decided to go on the adventure of being a professional editor, I just left school and I'm out of my life, and after losing my faith several times with my family about editing, watching this video made me have the feeling of continuing and not giving up, even though it is difficult without even having started studying, I'm going to start a course and go on editing to learn more, because It's with editing that I can feel free to expose all that creativity that is accumulated inside me, even though I know that I will have to work for other people, what work is not like that? I hope it's worth it, that's it thanks for that little spark of hope and it's time to go back to vegas, a comment from a Brazilian very distant from his dream, wish me success!! Crashing premiere Solution: Save the project every 30 second. Wait You will end up with alot of files that u can delete after u are done with the Project. A Struggling Editor💚✌

Thanks for the compliment, man! But I definitely don't consider myself necessarily talented. I just learn relatively quickly, obsess on watching tutorials and I basically didn't do anything else over the last like 15 months but editing videos 😀

That's the perfect word to describe it! But man, I just checked some of your vids earlier. Don't sell yourself short. You are already really good!! Massive props, my friend 👌😀 The summary is: I made my first ever video about 2.5 years ago, through 2017 I made the highlight compilation videos for Jon Olsson and exactly a year ago I decided I'm gonna do this youtube thing myself, quite everything else and booked a ticket to Thailand to start making travel videos. Then I send a DM each to Warner Nickerson and the Team from Epidemic Sound and those were the first real gigs I got paid for as being a videographer/editor.

Especially the client part, even though I've done a couple of gigs 😀 That's an awesome story! I was going to pick out something specific and go ''that's really impressive!'', but it's all impressive! Highly thinking of doing the DM thing as well, it can be such a powerful technique. It's rare to encounter such an open creator in the comments, so I'm in. haha if I read it like this, it actually sounds like I'm a super-bad-ass and everything i touch turns into gold. Let me tell you... that last year cost me so many nerves and caused so much stress and anxiety until finally things started working out 😆😆😆 that business part is definitely very important!! and for the DM's, I made a video on this actually, not sure if you've seen it. I see in the Eula of some of the video editing tools that it is for private use only. So if I want to sell my created videos or put ads on them I would need a software that paid all the 3rd party licensences for you (e. g. mpeg). Does somebody know where to find such a video editing software that costs under 300 bucks?

Seit 6 Monaten bin ich als Freelancer bei einer Firma und mach zusätzlich andere Videos...sprich 8 Stunden dort schneiden- 2 nochmal zu Hause und am WE drehen...was treibt dich voran? Wo kommt deine Inspiration? Ein wenig hilft bei mir oft Video von z.b. Andreas Hem zu sehen- aber das ist nicht alles...

Ja, das Problem kenne ich absolut. Aus meiner Sicht ist die beste Lösung, die eigentliche Zeit, die man mit Editen verbringt absolut so gering wie möglich zu halten, damit es einem nicht die Motivation auffrisst. Wenn du schon 8 Stunden am Tag schneidest, dann noch mal zwei zu hause... puuuh... Ich versuche nur Projekte oder Kunden anzunehmen, die mir auch tatsächlich annehmbares Geld einbringen. Für ein paar Euro die Stunde Videos zu schneiden kommt für mich schon lang nicht mehr in Frage vor allem nicht als Selbstständiger. Dann kann es gut sein, dass ich tatsächlich nur so 15-20, vielleicht 30 Stunden die Woche in Summe schneide. Und bei Video-Projekten vermeide ich ehrlich gestanden auch so weit es geht jegliche schnöden Corporate Sachen wie Werbefilme für die Bäckerei um die Ecke. Manchmal muss das natürlich sein, um Cash reinzubringen, aber ich fokussiere mich eher drauf, mir Projekte oder Videos auszudenken, die ich unglaublich gern selbst sehen würde, es aber bislang noch nicht gibt. Darauf verwende ich aktuell mindestens so viel wenn nicht mehr Zeit als für das eigentliche Editen ;)
