This video was created to education the public about children an adults with intellectual disabilities. They are individual who enjoy the same things we do. I hope this video reduces the stigma and give you a small view into my daughter’s life. It’s my wish that people become more respectful and tolerant of person with intellectual disabilities.

i have worked in the field for 33 years and watched the changes over the years for the better. I love this video...i love that mom made this video with her child and all the things that were said. I encourage all parents and people with disabilities to continue to educate us all. Thank you for showing this very nice video.

I love your video. My sister has an Intellectual Disability as well and my son is Autistic I’m asking others how they plan on keeping their loved ones safe during this uncertain time in our country? I fear for my sister and some being as though they have a double target on their back because they are black with disabilities. Not all people have the same love, tolerance, patience, and respect as we do.

You are so right. Just continue to support and make sure you check on your sister if she is not living with you and your family. My daughter has her own place with supported help. GOD will get us thru this....

I love the video and your son is amazing but if there's one thing I happen to really hate is the word "disability"...I understand the need to use it sometimes so that others can reasonably accomodate their circumstances so I much prefer the term "additional needs"...that way, it presents the person as having more needs than the average person (I hate the word "normal" to by the way!)..

What makes me sad and I want to cry so bad none of us will ever get jobs by ourselves this is what I did in high school and special education I with there until the age of 21 no no one I would Pete know no one hire me after I did these kind of program volunteering place my place not even my special education teacher didn’t talk about my future or maybe it’s the state I live in who don’t give a crap about disabled people but luckily I went to that agent disability program they help me find me a job and you need a job coach to help you find you a job Coach without a job coach I’m sorry to say this But no one will ever hire you except if you have connection or your family members know somebody at the workplace they will hire you but if you don’t know nothing you are on your own I have a job coach and she is helping me in my job I want to say thank you to her let me just say the school will not do shit for you after you graduate special-education is nothing but a waste of time

and please do not forget the fact that we only ever get the shitty jobs nobody else wants at all and will not even apply to we also make very very very ittle money when are employed the job pool is still extremely limited for people like us which make saving any money nearly impossible now the part I don't agree with is needing help finding jobs I personally found work before without their help whatsoever
