I went to Gaynes 1983-88... so a bit before my time, but all looks the same as I remember it - and some familiar faces. Loved watching it! Thanks

Howard has, somewhere in the loft, the out takes from the 'Day in a Life' film. He's going to attempt to find it and post it. It may take a while but watch this space.

My husband Howard Emes and his friends Tim Moldon and Neil Robinson made the Summer Fair film in 1977, and the Day in the Life films in 1978, the year they left school. Howard always thought that the films went with Mr Bonny when he retired and a few years ago he contacted the school to enquire as to their whereabouts. He would love to know their history and how they ended up on KZfaq.

Hello Sheena. One of the teachers gave me copies of these and said I could upload them to KZfaq. I was informed that one of the teachers made these films... very interesting to learn otherwise. (I won’t post the teachers names without their permission )

@@JulieBulieJewels Hallo Julie, This is Howard here. Lovely to be in contact with you. I thought the films had been lost forever and was delighted to see them again after all this time. The confusion about you being told that a teacher made the films could be that I was certainly aware at the time of making ours that there had been another film made before ours. I'm pretty sure that it was made by an art teacher. ( I have a name as well). Some of the clips in the films made me laugh because I can remember the edits made just before various 'friends' pulled faces and know what happened next. These clips I still have somewhere. At the time my friends and me made our own personal 'action' films and Mr. Bonney gave us permission to film in and around the school on a weekend. That would never be allowed now! We turned the sixth form dining area into a betting shop for one scene. Mr. Bonny was very supportive in my film adventures. He gave me, Tim and Neil some vouchers as thanks for the film making and I remember him well. I wasn't the most academic of students but he always encouraged me in my hobbies. Do you have the films still? I ask because I would be interested in paying for a copy of each film on dvd. Thanks again for uploading these films. It made my day yesterday. Are you, like me, a former pupil? Regards, Howard

Hallo Julie. I've resolved the issue of copies. regards, Howard

Hello Howard. Yes I too am a former pupil. I enjoyed my time at Gaynes. Yes it was the art teacher (I’m sure it’s the same one) that I was informed had filmed these. I loved hearing your recollections. 😊

Hi Sheena and Howard. What a lovely surprise to find this by chance today and see all the faces from my pastimes at Gaynes. Very happy times. I’ll pass this on to Lindsey H in Australia. Much love to you both and anyone else from the 6th form of 1977 featured. Lynn Copland now Lyndsay Wise.

It's earlier than 1980; more like 1977.

I stand corrected by Sheena...1978 then. Julie T-M: who are you? Another former pupil or member of staff?

Dear Miss French - I don't wish to alarm you, but to paraphrase that antediluvian band The Eagles, I think you'll find that although one day you will officially 'check out' of Gaynes School, you can never leave. I know I haven't. Ask Howard.
