It had problems of corruption, unchastity, abuse, heresy, and bad catechism which is what led to the current crisis. If it were not so bad that it would not have led to this. What we have to remember is that holiness and tradition go hand and hand, but out of the two holiness is superior. If you have tradition without holiness you have a clanging symbol that sounds nice on the outside.

@@markushill8639 I disagree. God's grace is working to make many people holy in these dark times - since grace abounds all the more. Holiness is often hidden don't forget. Angels usually appear as humans to not seek glory, and only reveal their angelic nature if God wishes. Likewise, only a select few of the holy are shown as such when God wills it, while the majority of holy people keep their holiness away from public view. If you need an example, there is a very strict religious order hidden away from everyone. Most of their dead are found incorrupt and yet they don't even label their graves. There are, even in the world, many blesseds, venerables, servants of God, canonized saints, and those up for the cause who have lived a life of heroic virtue even in these terrible times. God never puts us in a situation where His graces are insufficient to make us holy - so the problem is us. Once this chastisement is over, the mainstream parts of the Catholic Church will return to proper externals. When that happens and before it happens we must work with what God has given us. Assuming someone is in heaven might lead to neglecting prayers for their soul, which could be detrimental if they are in need of purification. (even if you think they are already in Heaven) It is fine to hope for someone's entrance into Heaven, but it is also important to pray for them.
