Absolutely. You see a lot of champs with a room full of yes men during their private training time. I know their time is valuable, but being on the mats with the rest of the team shows a lot about Volk.

Alex is easily the most fearless fighter in the entire ufc. I've never seen the slightest bit of nervousness in this man's eyes even once. Mentality is on a level 99.999% of us cant relate too at all. Will be the king for years to come no doubt

What I love about Volk's training is that you can see it's hard work. I'm sure everyone works hard but I watch Ilia's training and he always looks good, he always looks like he's the best guy in the room. I watch Volk, and he's getting throw down, getting put in submissions in terrible positions by Craig Jones. It's epitomizes train hard so the fight is easy. And Still baby 🏆

Volk has beaten the best featherweights from three different eras Late 2000s / early-mid 2010s : Aldo + Mendes + Korean Zombie Mid-late 2010s : Holloway + Ortega 2020s (so far) : Yair Rodriguez A win against Topuria would add to that list and surely cement his place as the featherweight GOAT.

@@ethancleaver1464 1. I never said Volk wasn't the featherweight goat - just that a win against another top contender would solidify his status. 2. Aldo was the best 145er for pretty much a decade prior to Max / Volk. There is no shame in him losing to two of the all time greats in their primes whilst he was on the decline. 3. A big reason Aldo moved down a division was because he was clearly undersized for featherweight. He was smaller than a lot of the bantamweights too

Hit them but don't get hit, take them down but don't get taken down. Fighting is more effective when kept simple and when your brain can easily process what you have to do. Making fighting complicated can result in the down fall.
