Yes guys! We're back with another “Day in the life of a pro” series.
This episode features the 2003 World Championship Bronze Medalist, former world number 7 and the man behind the best backhand of all time, Kalinikos Kreanga!
Kreanga is one of the most popular table tennis players of all time and has been responsible for some of the best rallies ever seen in the game.
We traveled to Athens to see how he lives his life now, talk about his career and of course his incredible backhand! Enjoy!

Wow what a privilege to spend time with another legend in our sport. He is to be admire no doubt, I think one of things that I am not sure if you (Dan) spoke about with him, is the incredible mental ability, yes no kidding about his BH, but man this guy has mental toughness. In my memories of this sport is one of his games (which I can watch over and over) is the one in 2003 (WTTC) against He Ziwen ! It shows everything about him; mental toughness, physical strength and his pure talent about getting out of situations. He's on of a kind. It was great to watch and his hospitality seems no other but 2nd to none. Congrats TTDaily for such a great interview !!

Legend! Absolute legend! My idol when I used to play, literally! As a matter of fact, I tried hard to input his amazing backhand in my games and as a result, my backhand was my strong point. I would have never recognised him though, he’s changed so much from back in the day… But as soon as he played his legendary backhand, I knew it was him indeed! I could perfectly remember games of his and absolute monstrous rallies he was capable of. The 100% best backhand the history of table tennis has ever known full stop! Much love.

Thanks for doing this Dan. I've played Petr Korbel before and I would say he has a pretty strong backhand (definitely by far the strongest I've ever went against!). Korbel can generate probably 2-3 times the amount of spin compared to our best Junior boy's national team players here in Canada... (players which Kanak Jha could defeat reasonably comfortably these days). But I wouldn't know how it compares to Kreanga's. Would it be possible for you to meet Korbel and do a video on him?

great quote from hamilton. this thought came to me when thinking about federer, nadal or ma long. each one of them said they didnt choose (table)tennis as first sport or on their own. their parents saw their personality and let them try out stuff and then they landed with a sport that also was popular/accesible in their surroundings. And dartsplayer Max Hopp for example said he was a handballplayer because of his height. when he got injured hard, he had to stay at home and played darts all the time alone. Then he went professional! they have it in their mind - why should they only be able to be good at one sport out of the thousands.

Very interesting person and a great player. But they all have contracts with different TT manufactures, which live from selling rubbers. This is business, so nobody would say, you can change your rubbers every 3-4-5 months. The conflict of interests.
