Mr David, I’m glad to see your sister is well enough to cruise with you again. Your meals on Queen Anne look even better than other Cunard ships’, minus the buffet and MDR. I’ve booked QM2’s scenic Cornish cruise for my birthday in 2 years’ time and apart from the buffet, may try the deck grill, pub lunch and cafes. June

Glad to see your scones at afternoon tea didn’t disintegrate into crumbs like ours did every time a knife was shown to them when we were on Queen Anne in May …they may well have tweaked the recipe ..great food review .. 👍👍

Wonderful video. Photography prefect. Great colours and clarity. Well done !!👍 The food looks Delicious !! Cunard is my favourite cruise line. Everything is so elegant and beautiful aboard their ships. I’ve dined at the “ Veranda “ restaurant on both the Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria. Sir Samuels food offerings look very similar. The Brioche Rolls are Fantastic . Definitely a highlight on the menu. I must say that Sir Samuels does not seem as fancy in its decor design as the Veranda Room on the other Cunard ships.But I’ve heard that they went with a different look on Queen Anne , which is much more “ Contemporary and Modern “ in style ? I personally prefer the more traditional “ Art Deco “ style of the other Cunard ships ! But the Queen Anne is very grand also in her own way. So glad to hear that you and your sister are both doing well with your health ! A true blessing from God !🙏😊

@michaelwhalen2469 What lovely comments, thank you Michael and I’m glad you liked the video. We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food on Cunard. I’ve sailed on Cunard 3 times before, all on the QM2. I couldn’t help but compare, and in that regard, Queen Anne is so completely different, at first I was disappointed…. However as the week went on, I fell in love with Queen Anne. She’s a very ‘Classy’ ship with lots to offer. We especially liked the food and service in Sir Samuel’s. Those brioche buns were delicious! In terms of the actual restaurant itself, it’s quite unremarkable in my opinion, apart from the good views. I’m looking forward to trying Queen Victoria later this year. Thanks again Michael, best wishes David

Following all of your Queen Anne videos, it was great meeting you onboard the ship. We were frankly feeling a bit negative after our time onboard, but you point out a number of positives and we’re thankful for that, makes us reconsider many of our opinions. And we loved the story of the kidney donation, thanks for sharing that!

I guess you had literally just come off the very majestic QM2, which didn’t help. They are world’s apart in just about every way. What an adventure you both had though, I hope you enjoyed the transatlantic crossing and I’m sure Norway didn’t disappoint. I hope our paths will cross again one day. I’m so sorry your daughter needs a kidney transplant and I hope a suitable donor kidney is found asap. I have no regrets whatsoever! That kidney completely restored Jane’s health, literally within 24hrs. I really hope the same will happen for your daughter. Sending you both our very best wishes. David

I was on the Queen Anne with my daughter cruising the Norwegian Fjords departing Southampton on June 23. I was particularly impressed with the new and vastly improved buffet area with food stations featuring various offerings ranging from customizable salads to fish & chips to pasta to sandwiches to roasts. We are pretty loyal Cunard customers and this arrangement was a huge step up from the other Queens. The highlights of the Specialty dining venues (read extra charge) were the steak house, Sir Samuels, and Tramonto, the Mediterranean restaurant. This video does a good job on Sir Samuel's and it is very good. We loved Tramonto although I was a bit surprised that they had no pasta offering. In both of these restaurants the service was excellent. We were a bit disappointed with the service in the Britannia Restaurant. They appeared to be understaffed and there was usually more of a wait between courses than we liked. The food was quite good and there was lots of variety. The biggest (only?) disappointment was the specialty Japanese restaurant, Aji Wa. I have spent a lot of time in Japan on business over the years and whatever they were serving wasn't Japanese food as I know it. In addition to the food on offer being odd and not delicious, practically everything had an extra charge. The other specialty venues did not do this. Avoid Aji Wa. One last tip, book the specialty dining restaurants before you get on board - the price goes up about 10% if you book on board.

@KathyB52 Thanks for watching Kathy! Yes, that bread was the best!! The room service was great, although as you pointed out…. Nowhere to properly eat it…. It was literally breakfast in bed! That’s another downside of booking the small inside cabin. Yes, you noticed the lack of a spoon!! (You have a good eye)

Anyone seen how bad Cunards Queen Marys gone? My thoughts are- it's because Carnival has sent it's best crew to the Queen Anne and is allocating more of their $$$$$$ in to it financially, too.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. I’ve not sailed on QM2 for many years, but I’ve seen several vlogs/blogs about the poor state of things. Such a shame. QM2 is their flagship, it should be the best of the best. Hope it improves as I’m booked on her for 2 weeks in 2026.

What aspects have gone downhill on it out of interest .?? Seen a vlog recently from a chap who’s pretty discerning and he really enjoyed his transatlantic voyage ..
