Lol. That's ME changing my wiper blades, and I agree with you, I have been really annoyed that the last several pairs I bought only lasted about a year! I've tried different brands with the same result. Very annoying, wiper blades used to last about 3 years!

Yay. I was just watching a PBS show an hour ago about these wikiups throughout Colorado. Still standing after many decades. The native population would stay and harvest the area coming back year after year. And even into the early 20th century they hid from the authorities who would have confined them on reservations. Interesting.

Carolyn...I just love your videos! As I've said before, you are the reason, I'm out here full time! I always get a valuable takeaway or two from every dang one of your vids. Never even gave a thought to either getting so sick I'd need an ambulance or what I'd do with my dog if I did. So, thank you for addressing the question because now I know what I'd do! 😂Also, you are so brave about the bears.🐻 I know, I know you've given us facts about how much more concerned we should be about falling out of bed rather than being concerned about meeting an agressive bear. [I'm still workin' on that fear.] This video was just so real life and beautiful and peaceful. I really enjoyed it! By the way I actually did LOL (laugh out loud) over the hammock fiasco...that too was a beautiful interaction! Thanks again for all you do!

That was an interesting spot you found. It appears it was cleared as part of a gas and oil exploration project by the Koch Industries conglomerate that has made billions of $ off of fossil fuel extractions and related processing activities. The large plot was cleared for the drill rig, associated equipment and drill mud reservoirs. Apparently no appreciable amount of fossil fuel was found underneath there so the equipment was removed and the surface environment was partly restored. The access road was likely bulldozed to provide access to the site. The pipe you showed marked the top of the well which likely descends many thousands of feet and is likely sealed near the top. If it doesn't meet modern sealing requirements then crews may be required to return to further seal it. The weld bead writing on the pipe indicates it was place there on October 18, 1982. The T and the R are references to Township and Range which is a surveying system commonly employed by land surveyors and recorded in log books such as those kept by the BLM and federal agencies recording the exploration lease plots. Koch Industries is a giant conglomerate company deeply involved in numerous aspects of the gas and oil industry for about the last half-Century. The weather station is a much newer addition. It is typical of hundreds of automated stations located around the country. It is powered by a solar panel and storage battery. Numerous weather sensors feed a data collection unit in it and then the processed data is periodically transmitted up to a geostationary satellite using the slanted antenna. That satellite collects data from thousands of other data collection stations. From their the data is transmitted to a ground station on the east coast. A computer there formats the data and then feeds it out to a public website where anyone can see the collected data. Most likely you can find that station listed on the website operated by the National Weather Service. The Weather Service and broadcast forecasters utilize that date to help them forecast the weather trends.

What a beautiful spot to camp. I'm sorry the bear got your bag. We had wild boar that came into our camp. We had a cooler outside with soda in it. They opened the cooler, had a couple rootbeer then left. Lol. We don't leave anything out now. We've been on the road for 2 years and have learned some things. Thank you so much for sharing this gorgeous spot and your tofu crumble. It looked amazing. Hope that you keep getting better. Love you and Sadie.

What a beautiful peaceful spot loved watching you walk through the woods the green the butterflies the sound of the wind and even the at doing that hard work of pulling whatever it was back to wherever he came from. Windshield wipers they’re my nemesis as well. If I had to change them once a week I probably get it down but once a year I always forget and have to look it up. Food looks yummy! You look like you’re feeling much better or was this before you got sick gosh I lose track of time great video Carolyn 💜✌🏽

I've only seen one butterfly this entire season! I hope it's just me. No bees this year either. It was neat watching the ant work so hard to get that food home. He was determined! It is absolutely gorgeous where you are! I think I'd have put my chair right next to that tiny stream and put my feet in it, but, then again, I bet it's a very cold stream. I love your teapot! I'm glad I watched this one. I learned about the jars. I do have a cat and a dog, but one managed to get into the basement and I know he's dead but I can't find it. That's the worst smell! I've literally turned my furniture over to see if it wasn't in there somewhere! No such luck. So, my husband put 900 watts of solar on our van so we can have some air while we sleep. I say we but he's such a workaholic that I don't know if he'll be able to pull himself away. We shall see. I have no problem taking off for a week or two here and there. You're in some fantastic weather! It's been so hot here in the midwest! I can't wait until I get out there! Planning to start a business on the road. Looking very forward to it! Thanks for sharing this awesome day with us! I enjoyed it very much! My apologies for the short book I wrote. Heeheee!

I go through the same thing with wiper blades, I have them do it at napa or any of the auto shops I buy them at. Just easier, or I let my son. I hate them and it is so easy. But I have the very same problem every time. They are not made to last they are plastic not rubber. The rubber ones used to last for years. You find the most beautiful places to camp. Another great video. Thanks for you time.

Hi Carolyn. Something I recently learned about wiper blades is, streaking can occur if your windshield and/or you blades are dirty. So next time before changing your blades, first try making certain your windshield and wiper blades are clean. I once thought I needed new blades, but after cleaning my old (but still fairly new) blades by wiping the blades with soap and water a few times . . . no more streaking!
@vernonbrechin4207
@vernonbrechin4207 2 жыл бұрын
Good advice. Yes! wipe the blades often to clean the rubber. With sun exposure, age and use eventually the blade edge will tear away from the base, starting at the ends. Then the only solution is to replace the blades with new ones.

Rain-X wipers are silicon, not rubber. If you're in a hot dry climate and don't use your wipers often enough, they will fuse to the glass and then rip when you do go to use them. You might be better off with the cheaper, rubber wipers. (Info from my father-in-law. Not my personal knowledge.) 💜
