I love the way that you all put this together, for it reminds me of old steam engines on the tracks of yester year. Old Master Gunnery SGT USMC.

Absolutely fantastic. I have a number of these engines myself. You’ve done a fantastic job detailing them and what a wonderful array of cars to go with the locos and shots of these running.

Am modeling the FJ&G with an interchange at Fonda, NY. I am old enough to remember the steam era on the NYC. I also remember the transition from 4 tracks to 2 tracks after WWII. ( Have a BLI Hudson and Pacific)

Awesome detail! Is it O Scale? What part of New York State does it represent?
@warrenfrost60338 ай бұрын
It is all HO scale, and doesn't represent any place in particular. The layout is in a hobby shop, Just Trains, in Concord, California.

Very nicely done! Where on earth did you find an HO f12 class? I've been looking for one of those. Who was the manufacturer?
@warrenfrost60333 ай бұрын
The 1285 is a model made by Gem Models circa 1970's. Precision Scale also made one more recently. or your Both are brass.Thanks for asking.

Love it! Super detailed. 2 questions: is the Dreyfuss brass? If so could you please tell me where did you get the decals for it? I love painting brass and would like to get a Dreyfuss but I can’t find decals for them…

I love guessing these locomotives so curious too - I think PSC?
@warrenfrost60339 ай бұрын
5454 is a Westside brass engine. The decals are Micro-Scale pieced together from various sets, except the NYC on the tender is made up of individual letters.

I grew up in Rochester, NY 1/4 mile from the NYC mainline. When I was born, the Century still had Hudsons assigned, Niagaras were not built until one year later. Fifty scheduled first class trains passed through every night when I was sleeping!
@CarbonC509 ай бұрын
Brilliant as ever. I am thinking those are the MTH 20th Century cars? Do you have a feeling for the radius they'd be reliable at with the close coupling you are sporting there? Also really like the tender to Baggage/RPO distance so much more realistic than others I see.
@warrenfrost60339 ай бұрын
Thank you! With the close coupling you see here, 48" radius is about the minimum. And, yes, those are MTH cars. I like them as well as some of my high-end brass cars.
@jonnyspeed9 ай бұрын
@@warrenfrost6033 That explains why they look so realistic. I don't thing many people understand just how broad of a radius is required to get really realistic looking passenger trains
@warrenfrost60339 ай бұрын
The close coupling is very important for passenger trains to look convincing. I don't see it very often, however.@@jonnyspeed

First time I've seen what appears to be a road caboose without a cupola or bay windows. Of course there are transfer cabooses with neither of those.
@warrenfrost60339 ай бұрын
B&A used them on locals. Originally, they had cupolas.

I’ve got ask where’d he get the 4-8-4 Niagara’s?
@warrenfrost60338 ай бұрын
Niagara 5500 is a Key brass import. The prototype was an experiment with a new type of steam distribution to the cylinders, hence the sparse appearance of the usual valve gear.
@danieldoesdumbstuff9 ай бұрын
That first Niagara….where’s the valve gear?
@warrenfrost60339 ай бұрын
5500 is actually the last built Niagara and was equipped with experimental Franklin cam poppet valves. These valves are internal and replace the outside valve gear. Hence, the bare look.
@walterhammond2908 ай бұрын
Wow, totally prototypical in operation! One question, where's the smoke?!
