LYRICS
You wanna take it away from me. Take it away from me. You can't wait till I'm stumbling. Go get carried away.
Go!
And the fears sets in, in an instant. Too much of myself gets exposed. This is where I go at my weakest, when i dont have to be scared to tell the truth.
Tend to do my best when everything goes wrong. That's why sad songs make me happy, cause I dont have to feel alone.
You wanna take it away from me. Take it away from me. You can't wait till im stumbling. No, you've got me wrong. Oh the nights are long with no one else around. You wanna take it away from me go get carried away.
It's never what you've done, its what you've done lately. Who cares what you're sayin, if no ones listening.
You don't have to like me, but you're gonna respect me.
I that came from nothing, leave hope in my wake.
I got no regrets, but have my days with doubt. To those left in sadness I'll be the one to lead you out.
You wanna take it away from me. Take it away from me. You can't wait till im stumbling. No, you've got me wrong. Oh the nights are long with no one else around. You wanna take it away from me go get carried away.
I reserve my right to feel uncomfortable reserve my right to be afraid. I make mistakes and I am humbled every step of the way. I want to be a better person. I wanna know the master plan. Cast your stones, cast your judgement, you don't make me who I am.
God help those who help themselves, and forget about everyone else. You lost your nerve, you missed the point. God help those with open hands, may they never feel burden again. Ya I'll stand up for those who can't. I'll close the distance.

What an amazing band...you know you're awesome when your Fandom starts crossing generations. I just might be ADTR's oldest fan. I'm 45 and was indoctrinated by my kids, We've been taking our daughter (now 21 ) to their concerts since she was in JR High. She's been to every concert they have played in Texas. My son in High School started listening about a year ago and is also huge a fan. Even though their songs have been background noise in my house for almost a decade, I never really listened to them until now...all I can say is Wow! .Every CD is literally a masterpiece. The next time they are in DFW looks like Dads buying 3 tickets to the concert.

I see a lot of people talking about the ending chorus, which is fucking amazing but what about "God help those who help themselves, and forget about everyone else. You lost your nerve, you missed the point. God help those with open hands, may they never feel burden again. Yeah I'll stand up for those who can't. I'll close the distance." I am seriously thinking of adding that onto my Adtr Tat I already have. God I feel those lyrics so much.

This is one song title? Not all of there's are long. PANIC! takes it definetly because they're first 2 albums had long titles on every song. Ex: End of Me, City of Ocala, Dead and Buried, 2nd Sucks, I'm Already Gone, Heartless.

You wanna take, take, take, take, take it away from me (take it away from me) You can't wait, wait, wait, wait, wait till I'm stumbling Go get carried away Go! And the fears sets in, in an instant Too much of myself gets exposed This is where I go at my weakest, When I don't have to be scared to tell the truth Tend to do my best when everything goes wrong That's why sad songs make me happy, 'cause I don't have to feel alone You wanna take, take, take, take, take it away from me (take it away from me) You can't wait, wait, wait, wait, wait till I'm stumbling No, you've got me wrong Oh the nights are long with no one else around You wanna take, take, take, take, take it away from me Go get carried away It's never what you've done, it's what you've done lately Who cares what you're saying, if no ones listening You don't have to like me, but you're gonna respect me I that came from nothing, leave hope in my wake I got no regrets, but have my days with doubt To those left in sadness I'll be the one to lead you out You wanna take, take, take, take, take it away from me (take it away from me) You can't wait, wait, wait, wait, wait till I'm stumbling No, you've got me wrong Oh the nights are long with no one else around You wanna take, take, take, take, take it away from me Go get carried away I reserve my right to feel uncomfortable reserve my right to be afraid I make mistakes and I am humbled every step of the way I want to be a better person I wanna know the master plan Cast your stones, cast your judgement, you don't make me who I am I reserve my right to feel uncomfortable reserve my right to be afraid I make mistakes and I am humbled every step of the way I want to be a better person I wanna know the master plan Cast your stones, cast your judgement, you don't make me who I am God help those who help themselves, and forget about everyone else You lost your nerve, you missed the point God help those with open hands, may they never feel burden again Yeah I'll stand up for those who can't I'll close the distance

John Connor Breakup songs are an essential staple for all punk bands. This is fact.
@plutonium120
@plutonium120 9 жыл бұрын
Devin Borden i've been thinking a lot about this comment. i dont think that's very accurate. punk is first and foremost about being different; it's about hating the fucked up system that we're all born into, about fighting your parents for forcing you to play along for so many years, it's revenge against every teacher, or cop, or priest, or family member or "adult" who told you that you would never be anything. punk music is the one remaining spark of rebellion that no one can take away from you, no matter how bad things get. and SOMETIMES a punk skater boy will fall for a pretty girl. and when she breaks his heart (she must because this is essential for the punks growth) the punk will write a song about this too. maybe one or two songs, but enough is enough.
@NaruAMV1
@NaruAMV1 9 жыл бұрын
John Connor This isn't even a punk band. xD Besides, they've written a ton of songs about different things. There's always been a good balance. But I think more than any of that (if we are basing it on what 'punk' is about), it's about writing whatever the hell you want to write, and saying, "Fuck you", to anyone who doesn't like it.

I feel like this is the best ADTR song to show to someone who hasn't heard of them. It covers the widest range of their sound, with a pop punk, catchy chorus, a metalcore inspired set of verses, and a soft interlude that's reminiscent of their softer stuff, with an ending that puts it all together.
