Kristaps Porzingis has shown throughout his career that he can be plugged into different roles. But how will the Boston Celtics utilize him? #nba #kristapsporzingis #bostonceltics #celtics #memphisgrizzlies #washingtonwizards #filmroom

I have not been this excited as a Celtics fan since we got Garnet. We finally have another dominant big man. The sky is the limit with how this team can score points. They are going to be so damn good. Good luck stopping them.

Porzingas is also great at drawing fouls with and without the ball. Watching Wizards games last year he was constantly going to the line when the opponent were in the penalty, teams foul him on rebounds often trying to hold him from getting in position. At his height, if he's near the rim its tough to stop him grabbing the board. That said, he also plays without full intensity often to avoid injury. He doesnt like leaving his feet in a crowded paint and no landing room. He's learned to try to avoid the most risky situations for injury. Something i hope he doesnt stop doing because hes trying prove himself on the C's. Him staying healthy is top priority, not going for a few rebounds or putbacks when they are risky is fine by me. He can save that for the postseason. Healthy Porzingas is a top 5 center in the NBA and one of most efficient post players. Something the Celtics havent had since KG and sorely needed to break down zone defenses last year. like Miami's.

They would most likely play him in an Al Horford role (A younger Al Horford). Pick and pop, drive and kick 3 pointers, pick and roll, Post ups. Would love to see how he does coming off screens though

Kinda reminds me of Kevin McHale and Bill Walton, hopefully he spends most of his time in the post and not chunking threes like the rest of the team, could be just what the doctor ordered to have an inside scoring option when those times come when the rest of the team can’t buy a bucket.

No they won’t. They lost their leader Marcus smart and one of the only dawgs on their team. They have no leader anymore and joe mazulla is not a good coach. No one in that locker room respects him, he’s literally younger than some of the players. The Celtics got better talent wise but talent was never the issue, leadership was. And now they have none

Just hoping they dont turn him into Kevin Love since leaving Minnesota, they did it to Al. Horford went from 36 attempts his last year with the Hawks to over 250 in his first year in Boston. Get him on the Giannis diet and have him bang a little, it will do so much for the offense.

He actually started playing better when he reduced the muscle mass. He was beefier in Mavs and that lead to more injuries. He himself has said this. He like being lighter and more agile, rather than beefier.

Hello Josh! Would be very interesting if you could do a deep dive into why a player have fallen off, for example Kemba Walker, or a deep dive into what a player needs to improve in order to take another step, maybe someone like Xam Reddish

Talk about his style of play changing then use the stats to back your point, 20 stat reads in and my eyes roll back. Experiment with charts or some form of graphic showing the stat so the viewer doesn't have to remember each stat themselves to compare. Take a shot every time you mention second spectrum. Attribute the stats to them at the end? "Thank you to second spectrum for x stats-" Want a stretch goal? If possible get clips of him hitting and missing relative to the stats being mentioned. Good video though, but it feels like an AI made it.

Additionally, if you call it a film room study, talk about how often he does what in every situation, when he posts up does he frequently drive left or right? Does he back down to create an opening for his team? Does he rely on a close midrange?

As a Celtics fan everyone knows we all wanted to win with Marcus Smart on our team. He was the heart. I wish our boy the best with his future. I will say though. I’m more so excited that we managed to pull this for Marcus. KP played 60+ games last season and averaged 23 pts and 8 boards. Having his ability to score as a center with that size and wingspan to also match up alongside Robert Williams in the paint defense wise? I’m excited. When i first heard about the trade I was all for it and had no clue until my cousin told me we also got two 1st round picks thrown in on top of it? I’m excited. ☘️

Everyone keeps saying smart was the heart and leader of the team, but how much heart and leadership did they really have last year? They didnt even show up to a lot of games, they flat out gave up in the ECF, and they were a complete mess sometimes. It kind of seems to me that smart being the leader was a problem, not a benefit.

Don’t need a playmaker. One Marcus smart is a bad playmaker. Two, just the versatility on offense is the playmaking. Smart has held this team back forever. Go watch the playoffs. Smart hasn’t even been guarded. They play 4 vs 5 all the time and smarts guy is all over the jays. Smart is also one of the worst pnr players in the nba statistically. Celtics fans have been delusional a long time with regard to what he brings.

Being that tall why does he insist on jumping so high? That’s how he landed wrong in the past and got injured. No need to jump like that. He needs to shoot without leaping.
