In the frozen north of Hokkaido, a scarred young man pans for gold some 10 years too late, in an effort to fulfil a promise made to a comrade lost listening to a drunk old time spin a tale of murder, betrayal and riches beyond your wildest dreams.
Originally written by Satoru Noda the now completed action adventure seinen set in the end of the Meiji era was made into an anime first by Geno Studio and later Brains base and the rest is history. It's a weird wacky and incredibly bloody treasure hunt that has since it's first episode in 2018 become my favourite anime of all time.

man such a masterpiece of a seinen anime! that scene where she gets face off the button is really such a expression of teamwork and the battle between the detective and the killer was peak cinema

After a few episodes I fell in love with the show. Watched it in fall last year. After the last season I started buying the manga too and rewatched the series like immediately lol It became one of my all time favourites. A few weeks ago the live action adaptation aired on Netflix and I even watched that one twice already. It turned out pretty decent in my opinion. :) I'm also a huge fan of JoJo's and I had a JoJo feeling watching Golden Kamuy a lot of times lol

Masterpiece!!!!! Lt.tsrume->is the next Aizen. If Iam correct in my assumption...he will become the best 3D chess master.

later in the anime they had a bear come up again and it was actually animated

Other anime than Trigun Stampede with good cgi is definitely Houseki No Kuni and Beastars for what i can at least remember. But yeah Golden kamuy was one of those animes that took some time before i started to really appreciate the show and its different kind of fan service :D

Also it's balance of traditional and untraditional within cultures is amazing. Many stories would paint ainu as pure hearted and the military as western destruction of culture. But neither side is 100& right. Aspire learns JUST AS MUCH as Sugimoto and the other's. Neither are heros or villains but people vs people old vs new truth vs lies

nope, this is mainly based on my own older review from a little over a year ago. I have seen their videos tho but didn't know they had reviewerd golden kamuy, might need to got check it out
