I find it hilarious how it’s bad that earl beats up Amy but when Amy does it, it’s considered funny. Which also brings up the question of why she just doesn’t beat up earl

Well... it's definitely complicated, but Earl is in the wrong because when he hurts Amy, it's bad. Where when Amy hurts someone like Sonic, the injuries don't last long, they heal with a hour or so. Plus Earl is abusing Amy while she just goes with a hit and that's it. After all she's in a abusive relationship where she feels like she can't fight back, when she can.

That opening scene happens with the characters canon ages. Amy Rose is 12 Sonic is 15 Tails is 8 Knuckles is 16 Cream is 6 Rouge is 18 Silver is 14 Blaze is 14 Vector is 20 Espio is 16 Charmy is 6 Ray is 10 Mighty is 17 Marine is 7
