Theory Time!: so when “Shinic” shows knuckles his motive, we see a brief flash of bacteria, scenes from different episodes, and demons ( I believe one of them is the demon bal). And I know this sounds a bit crazy, but the person telling knuckles to seek the super emeralds might be God, or the equivalent of him in the Sonic universe.

Maybe it is silver, the only thing telling me it could be God (or a angel of God) are the fact that Bal and Moloch (2 demons that require a sacrifice, normally a child) are shown when sonic shows knuckles his motive. The second reason is that when the voice tells knuckles to find the super emeralds, and angelic choir is in the background.

I can really tell you pumped an arm and a leg into this animation compared to all your others, what an improvement! The sprite work is unique, the voiceline for "sonic" is actually incredible, and everything else in general was so well made! This has easily become my favorite of the sonic tapes.

i thought for a bit, and i think Shin Sonic is the REAL Sonic, but he got infected by that disease or virus that flashed on the screen for a sec and now he is... THAT... Because Knuckles recognizes Tails and Sonic, he even says, and i quote, "You cant be Sonic, Sonic would never do this." at 1:42! Plus, i can prove this by saying he infected Tails with the virus/disease in Two Tailed Fox! just a thought also if he likes or pins this im at least partially right

if you see the reflection on knuckles eyes at the bottom there are some pointy ridges there so either that those ridges are just shading for detail for knuckles eyes or shinic is now bigger than a flipping mountain edit:i forgot to addd my theory so the theorys that shinic is manipulating knuckles into getting teh super emeralds cuz he wouldve killed him if he wanted to besides at 1:35 shinic is just right there he couldve eaten him right now but no he just stands there telling him his motives plus when he showed that vison about his motives it cuts to that bright light what if that same bright light is still shinics vison to knuckles i think this will happen in the end besides ive seen alot of analog horrors and most of em dont have good endings

3:15 This is clearly Super Sonic. Apparently the motivation for this ritual and Sonic's is to get the 7 emeralds and make Sonic a God with Super Sonic. I loved how this series is really good, and Knuckles as the last hope and hero is definitely absolute cinema.

When Knuckles was talking with the entity he refered the emeralds as "Super Emeralds", while the normal emeralds turn Sonic into Super Sonic, the Super Emeralds turn Sonic into Hyper Sonic (Sonic 3 & Knuckles) that is way stronger than any Super form, so if it isn't just a mistake while writing the story and they are just the normal ones, humanity and Knuckles are actually very screwed if Sonic grabs all of the super emeralds
