Thank you for the tour. The geographer in me is well pleased. Gold Coast looks very much like the cities of southern Florida, except for driving on the left, of course. 🙃

I've heard an American describe the Gold Coast as a mix between Miami and Las Vegas. Climate wise and in terms of city design it's more like Miami (although not quite as tropical, Cairns up north shares a closer tropical monsoon climate while Gold Coast is still humid subtropical). With the amount of glitter and casinos, the city is also the gambling capital of Australia, thus comparison with Las Vegas can also be drawn.

@@YotopianWanderer I didn't know about the gambling in Gold Coast. I was referring largely to the architecture (many white buildings with external balconies) and the palms, when I referred to its look.

Yes, lots of ballers, big players and money around, thats for sure. The parts I drove through here are really only for tourists and holiday makers. Most locals (including myself when I lived here) tend to avoid these places. Will show the suburb I grew up in on the other side of the city next video.
