Good French, but. . . You could greatly improve your pronunciation by using a less palatalised, or a MORE palatised T and D. As is you're pronouncing your D and T in that sweet spot that's always used in English, but never in most other languages. Try changing the point of articulation down to the back of your upper teeth (dental), or further back on the roof of your mouth (palatal), helped by listening more closely to how natives pronounce it. It's quite easy, once you start hearing it. Native speakers certainly immediately hear your T and D, immediately informing them that your main language is English and not French, probably their first and strongest indication in your speech. Fix that, and they'll possibly not notice within the first sentence uttered that you're not a native French-speaker.

If you want to speak more naturally like the French do (and understand them better when they speak) you need to enunciate ça me as /sam/ instead of /sa mə/. When you say ça (te) dit, you pronounce (te) with a glottal stop, same way we say ligh(t)ning or moun(t)ain. The (t) is pronounced, but not vocalized. Same when you say " s'il (te) plaît " 🙂

@@FrenchinPlainSight My comment was meant for everyone and I was only commenting on how the (te) is enunciated in spoken French. It bothered me for quite a long time how I could not hear the (te) or (de) when French people speak. I hope my comment could help people who are in the same situation as I was before 🙂

@@FrenchinPlainSight All the French teaching channels by native speakers on KZfaq teach people to say S'il TE plaît, s'y TEnir, pas DE problème, pas DE soucis without telling people how the TE and DE are actually enunciated when people speak normally. When you don't hear them by listening to people speaking, you think they speak too fast or there's something wrong with your ears and you can get really frustrated. The reason is a very simple one, they are pronounced with a glottal stop. Et voilà 🙂

Depending on the context, it could mean either one of the two 1. We are not supposed to do it (because it is rude or not appropriate). For example, we don't (we're not supposed to) eat with our mouth wide open and make loud chewing noise. 2. Not allowed. For example, you cannot drive without a permit.

Les grossièretés, il vaut mieux savoir les reconnaître que de rester interloqué quand on en est la cible.
