Not a bad idea. If you're looking for a "beater" laptop so to speak, this will be a great computer to use while traveling so the M1 14" stays safe!

Which one would you recommend more a lenevo yoga 6 with ryzen 5500u priced at £450 or dell inspiron 14 2 in 1 with ryzen 5625u similar to i5 1235U. Both with 256 ssd. And is the Dell inspiron 14 2 in 1 screen ips lcd

What is the screen brightness like? As far as I'm aware it's only 250 nits. Is the screen bright enough to use in a sunny/bright//light environment?

Under full sun (outside for example, at a cafe, college campus) you'll have difficulty with anything less than 300 nits. But if you're in an office or next to a window I think you'll be ok.

I have this laptop and was here to get to know more ins/outs of it (actually using it to type this), but I would say the only reason it may be a bit off-putting in the sun is because of how shiny the screen finish it. Based off of the brightness though, I believe that the true white-like functionality of it helps to easily see in bright areas.
