This time on Farmizen On The Road, we head to Hampi Organics to see two beautiful farms cultivated using SPNF natural farming methods
Seshu is a software engineer in Bangalore who manages his mango and sapota farms in Hampi over the weekends.
His farm is on the outskirts of Bellary - the rice bowl of karnataka. Wherein for hundreds of acres around, this relatively small farm is a lush oasis in the midst of a sea of paddy.
He follows the Subhash Palekar Natural Farming Method on his farm. Apart from being an ecologically sustainable approach to agriculture, this practice renders farms breathtakingly beautiful.

I'm farmer doing natural farming i want to encourage others also please provide any company or shops purchases natural fruits and vegetables. Marketing is the only hurdule in natural farming.

Fukuoka natural farming is about letting and encouraging everything to grow with only minimal human intervention. I know Palekar might not know of Fukuoka's farming technique when he did his natural farming. But Fukuoka was the first to start this farming idea.

*3:45** Most of this guy's trees are very very close to each other... almost touching.* No same type of tree has to be next to it. There has to be at least 1 or 2 trees in between every tree.

We need to form a community and do some scientific methodology to find results of Dashparni. I took feedback from 5-6 people. They don't agree that Dashparni give good results

Why does the conventional mango fruiting and chilli output go down some years inspite of having the best scientific research. We have powerful chemical pesticides but they failing to give output sometimes?

@@hampiorganicfarms7813 definitely, chemical pesticides is not solution. Natural eco balance will always exist for self sustainable farm. But in order to get some economical befits we need to use organic repellent or organic fertilizer (to boost self defense system). I was talking to form such forum/community which validate all such practices with proofs using scientific methods so that there won't any doubt on natural farming practices, which being questioned from chemical farming representative. Also it will help to mass migration towards natural farming

My experience is when you use all important ways of palekar farming you don't need much of Dashaparni ark ect. It's like if your daily diet is good you don't need medicine. You can't be doing harm to the ecosystem which supports the plant for faster growth or bigger produce and expect the Dashaparni ark to give some magical results. This is the main difference between palekar farming and some other. Understanding of the whole ecology and using it best way. Not finding some quick fix here and there.

can cultivating the wild edible fruit & vegetables native variety can be fruitable for a farmer???

It is the best option for dry regions. But the income will depend upon the farmer's ability to market his produce and make value added products. And , farming should always include cattle , chicken , goats/ sheep etc.

Very good and know ti happy. We are trying to grow something with SPK method in Bangladesh. But faces huge problems to farming with SPK method. So can we get your contract/mail address for share our problems and learn more from your experience?

*1:40** Palekar's methods are in no way related to Fukoka... Palekar's method is based almost entirely on IndianCow* . Especially its Dung & Urine inocolum... JivaMutra and its variations. *Palekar also suggests Mixed & Intercropping.* Modi govt is 1st Govt to recognize & award traditional methods of farming which are proving better than chemical farming.

1. Of course, Palekar method is not related to Fukoka. But Fukoka was an inspiration to both Palekar and the late Narayana Reddy from Karnataka. 2. AP under Chandrababu Naidu is the first govt that not only recognized ZBNF but in the last term (2014- 2019) Naidu trained 1,60,000 farmers in ZBNF under the guidance of Palekar and Vijaya Ram of Care Foundation (videos are available)
